Induction tomorrow! thoughts/advice/encouragement/prayers

I am 37+3 and am being induced tomorrow....ahhhh. My
blood pressure has been slowly creeping upward toward the end of my
pregnancy and I was diagnosed with GD around 27 weeks. They did the
first NST last week and although baby was responding to movement and had
a strong heart beat they didn't feel she was responding for a long
enough period of time. My Dr was very informative and explained to me
that when they compare heart rate vs. movement they like to see the
heart rate increase by ~15 beats/min for ~15 seconds. My LO heart rate
would spike with movement but didn't remain there for a long. I, too,
was sent for a biophysical u/s that same day and had to be done twice.
For the first one (30 minutes) it showed good fluid, heartbeat and
breathing but she just would not move. My Dr suggested I go eat
something and they wanted to do the test again, this time around she did
everything she needed to. With the combination of increasing BP, GD,
and the less reactive NST results, my Dr decided it would be best to
just get her out here with us to take better care of her. This is my
first pregnancy so I'm really starting to feel very anxious the closer
the time approaches. Thoughts, advice, encouragement and prayers are all
welcome!! I love having this community to interact with!!

  • Praying for you and baby.

  • They do know what's best given our diagnosis, I also have gestational diabetes. They are letting me go up to 2 days after my due date but I have NSTs and biophysical profiles twice a week. I get so paranoid because no one tells me what they are looking for so your post helped me. I always heard no news is good news but I hate that because I want to know what you're looking for! Good luck, you'll do well and your baby will be here soon ❤️
  • i was induced last week and my baby was born on easter.. Good luck!! Sending thoughts and prayers your way for a quick and healthy labor. I was in labor 35 hours so my advice is eat! Keep snacking until they tell you no more eating. And bring lots of change for the vending machine!!! Good luck, your so close to getting to see that beautiful baby!!!
  • Best of luck! I hope it all goes smoothly (and hopefully quickly)
  • Good luck!! I am scheduled for a c section tomorrow morning!
  • I was induced at 37w 5days because of BP I was scared but it all worked out! Good luck!
  • I wanted to share a positive induction story as I spent my day yesterday searching for positive ones :) I was 41w+2d, wasn't dilated but was effaced 80%. 12 hours cervidil and nothing. Opted for another 12 hours of cervidil (instead of cytotec) and still nothing! Started pitocin at 11:30pm at 1cm, 80%. Begging for an epidural by 3:30am and finally received it at 4:30am. Found out I was now 2cm and was basically sobbed convinced this induction would fail. Water broke at 5am, I fell asleep, woke up at 7am to be checked and learned I was 10cm! Pushed for 10 mins and she was out! So don't be discouraged if things aren't going right. Every body is different and responds differently.
  • Lo and behold, no induction necessary. Our little Miss decided to come along on her own. :) went in at 7PM Sunday night to be prepped and I was already 3cm, 80% effaced. Labor went extremely quickly (this was my first) and Miss Iva Frances was here at 12:46AM. God is SO good!
