Fisher Price Rock n Play Sleeper

I was given one of these by my cousin.  She didn't end up using hers because she co-slept.  Have any of you used this at all during the day just when baby is resting?  I have read some horrible reviews about possible issues with flat head syndrome.  But is this more because people had their baby sleeping in it too much?  I plan to carry my baby girl, have lots of tummy time and hopefully she will be able to sleep in the bassinet.  I'd just use this some during the day.  But I do not want to risk anything.
I have the older version of this rock n play that doesn't have much padding, the plastic piece is pretty hard.  Thoughts?

  • I'm not sure what version we have but we used ours for DS to sleep in at night for the first 4 months before moving to the crib. He didn't get a flat head

  • We loved our sleeper for our first two kids. I have a new one for our new baby. It is lightweight and very convenient. We didn't have any flat heads or bald spots and they slept in it at night so they could be close to

  • We have an older version. Has gone through 4 babies which one of then was my son. We didn't have a problem with a flat head. You can turn their heads a little so they're not testing in the same spot night after night.

  • I loved mine for my first and foremost lam on using it for this one as well. I did use it pretty often during the day. I like how if keeps baby off the floor which is great if you have animals or other little ones. I used it off and on at night and just made sure to rotate his head.
  • We used ours for 8 weeks at night before DS transitioned to his crib. We are planning on using it again. I think it's fine as long as they aren't in it all day and all night. loved it!!

My SIL swears by it, and she is an early-intervention physical therapist. She bought me one for this baby and I can't wait to use it!

  • I've used one with both of my babies and plan to use it with this one. They are a life saver for babies with reflux.

  • I swear by mine!! Absolutely loved it! That is the only reason I ever got any sleep at all. My little girl had horrible stomach issues and colic, and the incline was the only thing that helped her. She never had a flat head. I plan on using it again with this baby. It was by far my most favorite baby item.
  • I just got the my little lamb platinum edition deluxe nb from my baby shower I was going to return it but with all this positive reviews I'm going to give it a try :\">
  • I had read some reviews with the same issues and had the same concerns. But your baby can get a flat head or torticollis (sp?) by sitting in anything for too long. And it doesn't sound like you plan on never holding your LO so I think you'll be fine.
  • I agree with PP...anytime you let a baby lay in the same spot for an extended amount of time, whether in a crib, bassinet, or RNP they'll develop a flat/bald spot. Im pretty sure this has way less to do with the rock and play and more to do with lazy parenting. Also, i have 3 boys and 1 of them just had a flatish shapped head as a baby! He got plenty of tummy time, was carried, varied positions, etc. It was just his head shape! Thankfully, its rounded out since then. At 3, its perfectly normal.
  • I loved mine! And even tho it's pink I will be using it for this baby boy! Never had any issues, if your worried about bald spot or flat head make sure to turn babies head.
