Nipple piercing and breastfeeding

Anyone experience?
Should i take him out right now before birth and let it close ?
I heard mom's take him out before feeding and put it back in afterwords, does bacteria get any chanche to come into the baby that way?
And it sounds a litle painful to take it out and put it back in that much a day..

I have mine for about almost 2 years so its fully healed.

Re: Nipple piercing and breastfeeding

  • I had to take mine out for both pregnancies because my boobs grew too much and the piercing didn't fit anymore. Lol the hole never ended up closing though, so I was able to put it back in when I was no longer breastfeeding. Took it out about halfway through this pregnancy, and it's definitely not closed still since milk comes out the holes when I bf my little guy. It's really up to you what you choose to do, but sounds like a lot of work taking it out and putting it back in that often.

  • i had mines done for about 2 years too . I kept them in all the up until I was in the delivery room and they first gave me my LO to feed him I just got longer bars when needed. The lactation specialist laughed at me .
She told me to keep them out because it's too much exposure to germs constantly taking them out and putting them back in .
So now they are out but I think my holes closed
