Maternity pants are the greatest thing ever!

i just wanted to share that I finally caved and bought a pair and they are so amazing... I am soooo much more comfortable. I got a reasonably priced pair at target and couldn't be happier. For any other hold outs, I would recommend taking the plunge!

Re: Maternity pants are the greatest thing ever!

  • I agree! I have 3 pairs, full panel size whatever (I don't remember and I'm wearing them right now so I can't check..lol), then a size down, and a half panel pair which I love. Although the full panels are a little difficult to keep on my hips, cuz I'm high waisted and they like to slide, so I'm always adjusting them..but let me tell you how much I love my skinny jeans, and I got some (full panel maternity pants) at The Gap for a fair price!

  • Ugh I'm so irritated right now.  My maternity pants won't stay up, but my last pair of regular pants that still fit have a hole in them.

I made little suspenders for mine, almost like a garter clip that hooks to my bra..super helpful cuz mine won't stay up either :p

  • I wish all pants were like maternity pants!! So comfy!!

@Elizabeth043086 I was also having trouble keeping my maternity pants up. (I'm stuck in between sizes) so I wear a belly band over my maternity pants works like a charm. : )
  • Ive been wearing mine full time since weeks 12. They do slide a but but i know soon enough they will stay in place. Super cozy. Im in mostly maternity shirts too since theyre longer they are full coverage over my belly
  • I bought some two weeks ago and they are awesome. They actually make me looke thinner while showing off my baby bump. I had previously just bought bigger clothes but they just made me look fat and frumpy.
  • I love maternity pants. Also I feel like they enhance a bump, similar to wearing a bra.

  • Love them! Two pairs from motherhood and one from old navy, both fit great. Both full panel and demi.
  • I have bought a few pairs of maternity pants; several of them at thrift stores.  I don't know what I'd do without them!  I was a little overweight when I got pregnant, so as soon as baby started growing a little, I was in maternity pants.  I mainly like the full panel more because I feel like the smaller ones want to fall.  I too am sort of in between sizes, so a couple of my jeans tend to feel like they are going to fall off.  I wear a tank top underneath my shirt to help hold them up.  I also tried to make a belly band out of a cheap tank top, which has also worked fairly well.

I'm a hold out because of price. :( I don't want to spend the money and then not really like them.
Any suggestions of where is best to look would be greatly appreciated!!!
  • Having trouble with mine staying up too! I'm wondering how to make those suspender things!
  • I've been wearing mine since 8 weeks and am already wearing them out! lol. those stretchy panels rip if you keep tugging on them all the time! they are SUPER comfy tho!

I just got 2 pairs from motherhood maternity and love them!!! I'll be going back for a few more pairs soon. They were a great price at 20$ and 30$... well worth it. My only advice is go for the full panel... for me it's so much more comfortable, and seems like there will be room for them to grow with me. 1 of my pairs are just stretchy on top (with no panel) and they are already getting a little tight, and kinda squeeze the bump. Next time I'll get them all with a panel!!!
  • A great place to buy maternity pants is at an outlet mall. The motherhood maternity and old navy in our outlet mall had great sales. I think each pair of pants was only $19 and they are super cute and look like regular jeans.
  • I thought I'd go through this pregnancy without maternity pants and just use my sister's jeans since she's gained weight slowly over the years and has a variety of sizes that I could grow into. She mailed me a bunch of her old jeans and I was so happy they all fit comfortably. Then H&M had some on clearance so I ordered two pairs of maternity jeans and omg, they feel so good!
  • I've been in mine since 7 or 8 weeks. I was sick of the hair tie trick. I got a belly band from target but didn't like dealing with it all the time. The comfort is amazing. Now I'm just worried about summer. I feel like I won't want full panel if it's 110 out but am not finding a lot in stores that I like.
  • Having trouble with mine staying up too! I'm wondering how to make those suspender things!

WooHoo! I used bra extenders.. took a bra I didn't mind sewing something onto the bottom of the cup, and used the bra extenders, sewed them on, took the top of the panel of the pants, and sewed the hooks to clip into the bra onto the panel. Works like a charm. I tried snappies, but they kept coming undone. I got all the stuff at the local craft store (Joann's fabrics by me)

I also found that wearing a really thin tank top under the panel works super well if you aren't into sewing your bras ;) hope it helps
  • I adore my maternity pants! I only got one pair since I'll be pregnant in summer and don't want to wear jeans when it's 90 out, but I also got some Bermuda shorts. I'm only 5'2", so they're more knickers on me than shorts, but they're sooo comfy!
  • I need get me some of these!

My 'cheese cutters' are sound, (as hubby calls them) but not ideal with this 'leaky gynatash' even though you can buy panty liners to fit, it still hangs over the edge.

These maternity pants sound super sexy... Not! Comfort now more than sexiness I suppose :-)
  • @mybabynumber2 I don't think any maternity wear is ever really sexy. I mean, look at the awful nursing bras and maternity underwear that's available! But I agree, comfort is so much nicer than sexiness right now. Especially with leaky nipples and the way I've been grunting just getting off the couch - there's no ladylike behavior at the moment!
  • @Mousemamma Lol! :-)

I'm like that trying to put my socks on, and anything that involves bending really.

I sound like my mum !! Haha
  • Got me some.just because I read this thread. I got leggings but they are certainly pretty magical. I'm so much more comfortable. Although the leggings I bought are super long! I'm tall so this is very wierd.
