Does anyone have suggestions on what works best for the first few months? I definitely want baby to be close to me. I'm trying to decide between a bassinet, arms reach co sleeper, or pack n play with the bassinet attachment. What has worked best for y'all? Why didn't you like a certain one? Thanks so much!!
Re: Bassinet vs Co-sleeper vs Pack N Play?
We have limited space and didn't want multiple baby gadgets, so I liked how multifunctional it was. Plus, we wanted LO in our room until 6 months old, and no traditional bassinet we saw would last that long (plus they're a pain to store in between kids bc they're huge-our pnp from #1 is in a tidy little carrying case in her closet).
With my first 2 we did a bassinet with a pack n'play and diaper changing area. LOVED it. Will use it again this time around. It was handy beside the bed and the girls did great in it.
With dd 2 we also used a rock n'play - but that was in place of the bouncer - we liked that she was off the ground with a 2 year old around
I've used the same RnP with DD2 and will use it this time. It folds down relatively flat and I could carry anywhere that we went if needed. But the PnP also folds up pretty good.
The same cousin also gifted me a Baby Bjorn PnP and that's what DD1 uses in our room when she sleeps in there now that's she's older.
Does this matter? Is there any crazy ridiculous safety feature that didn't exist 6 years ago that I must know about?
If not, we totally want to use this for as long as we can.
I have been reading that older cribs are a bad idea bc of design flaws but didn't know if this translated to a pack n play.
And maybe 6 years just isn't that old...?
