Shoe fail

Just tried for 45 min to try on tennis shoes for going on walks with baby after birth....... After 45 min of straight up denial that my feet were wider.... I gave up and went home. I swear I was going crazy because NO not me.... My feet aren't even swollen....... But.... Apparently they are wider. If I did hashtags I would say #shoefail. :)

Re: Shoe fail

  • Oh I am officially up a shoe size and I can no longer fit into my already larger size running shoes (not that I'm planning on going for a run haha). I'm so sick of these swollen feet.

  • I can fit into my tennies when I start my day, but not after even just a couple of hours. The time spent standing spreads my feet out so much my toes end up crunched up against the front of the shoe. I want to buy a new pair of skechers but I am waiting until after baby comes. At least its getting warmer a bit so I can make the transition to flip flops. Who cares if most other people don't wear flip flops when the weather is in the 50s?

  • My feet look wider to me, but I've always had very narrow feet so my shoes are actually fitting better now, haha. Sorry for those of you who are having to buy new shoes!

  • Yeah that sucks. I was a 6.5/7 before I had DS, five years ago. Now I'm an 8. The worst part was getting rid of all the shoes I had :(
Side note, just bought Sketches Yoga Mat sandals all and they are so comfortable.
  • On a related note, I just bought a fake wedding ring from Target (2 sizes larger than my normal size) just so I could wear one again.

  • I finally accepted that my feet have grown this weekend.  Went to the store and bought these memory foam, stretchy, air-cooled Sketchers:  https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/skechers-women-s-glider-harmony-athletic-lifestyle-shoes/pid-1369261

They are SO COMFORTABLE.  I have no regrets.  Also, I went up 1.5 shoe sizes since before pregnancy.
  • This is my biggest pregnancy fear. I already have giant feet (basically an 11.5 even though they don't make that size) so I really don't have any leeway to grow if I ever want to wear shoes again.

Hopefully by wearing my sneakers everyday for work it'll keep em the same. So far so good..8ish more weeks to go.
TTC: 1/2014 BFP: 9/24 EDD: 6/8/2015 Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.
  • I've gone up a size & they are wider. I had to purchase tennis shoes & flats. BTW the flats I bought are Crocs which I've never worn before but they are comfy & feet don't hurt by the end of the day.
  • Right there with you! Thank God it was 70 today and I can ease right into flip flop season because my sneakers are just not making the cut! Becomes a pain when I am trying to take a walk though!
  • I pulled out all my summer clothes this past weekend and even my flip flops are now too small!! Boooo
