is there anything new to learn about the 2nd trimester? is there anything different here than in the 1st? so excited(:

    Here's a link to a list of 10 very popular pregnancy books. I recommend reading one or two and educating yourself on the process. You can buy online, from a bookstore, on a kindle, or from a library. Good luck!

    Yes. Everything from the 1st tri just stops and it's a whole new world in the 2nd. Then when you go to third, you may as well slam the door shut for the second and immediately open up 1 again.

     

    Please take the advice given to you and read one of the books suggested. Or even this website, then you will know what to expect week by week!

    I have a few books myself and found them a very good reference to have on hand any time I needed to know something, so I would also suggest some books. Even borrowing some from a local library (try to get the most up-to-date one that you can!)

    I found second trimester to be less of a worry than first trimester since your chances of miscarriage drop significantly. Most people tend to have a decrease in morning sickness and more energy in second trimester, but that isn't true for everyone (some unlucky people get stuck with it all pregnancy). You can also expect your anatomy scan this trimester as well to make sure baby is growing properly and has good measurements and vitals, and maybe as a bonus you may be able to find out the sex if the baby co-operates :) though I will say the coolest thing the tech at my A/S showed me was all the organs and little fingers and toes.

    My first trimester wasn't so bad, but the 2nd trimester is AWESOME so far! I feel like so much more is happening and it's just a great time. I feel fantastic, we had our 20 week ultrasound (it's a girl, yeehaw!) and I JUST started feeling her yesterday! All of my weird food aversions stopped as well. Like others have said, grab a few books and dig in!
