I have been dizzy for a while now so my neurologist ordered an mri and told me i can do it now or in 10 weeks after i deliver ...and also obgyn said its fine to get it done now if i wanted..i just opted to wait! So im sure ppl get them all the time when pregnant. But my question is if you wait for the mri until he is born will it make a difference? Like will the diagnosis or treatment be any different if they find out now or after you deliver?
I had an MRI when I was around 17 weeks I think? They did it to check for major kidney stones. All doctors assured me it was fine, as well as my obgyn. I'm not sure what you've got going on, but if they were telling me to do it now, I would just do it. It may end up being nothing or it may end up being something that needs addressed right now. I would go with whatever your doctor is recommending for the MRI then decide if treatment is needed whether or not to start it now or after the baby is born. That little baby needs you to be healthy! I hope everything turns out a-ok for you . Another thought might be to visit an ear-nose-and throat doctor. If it's just dizziness you're suffering from, it might be as simple as a sinus drainage issue.
It's not me that needs the mri it's my unborn baby. I'm perfectly healthy and hopefully he is too but there's part of his brain they need to check. Thank you for all your replies
Re: Has anyone had to have a mri whilst pregnant?
