Breast Pump Parts to Replace

What should I replace on my Medala breast pump for #2?  Probably the little white valves?  Maybe the tubes?  It has been sitting in a closet for 2-ish years, and I am not sure how much of an over haul it requires.  Thanks!

Re: Breast Pump Parts to Replace

  • I'm now pumping for my third and only ever replaced the little white membranes. I've heard to replace all of the parts, tubes, valves, etc. but I just sterilized everything and didn't see a need to replace it completely. I could see if you were EP with the first and wore out the parts or something, but they seem sturdy to me. With my first I used my pump about 25 times a week for 9 months and then just a few times a week after that until she was a year old. My second very rarely took a bottle so I only used my pump a handful of times. My third is a preemie and I'm EP for her 8 times a day.

  • I personally would replace valves, tubes and flanges.
Out with the old in with the new to make sure everything is up to par.
