TMI - blood in bowel movements

Weird question, but I've just been so paranoid lately about going into early labor that I was hoping for some reassurance. I had *TMI* diarrhea tonight and there was what looked like bloody mucus in it. Obviously I didn't have to strain (not at all actually, since I didn't even make it to the bathroom) and I haven't noticed any blood in my stool even at my most constipated, so I'm just wondering if that's something I need to call my doctor about in the morning or if it can wait until my appointment on Wednesday. I also very, very rarely even get diarrhea, so that's out of the ordinary as well. Feel free to tell me I'm fine and just paranoid! Thanks in advance!

It "could" be the beginning of labor. The bloody mucus may have been your bloody show and sometimes the prostaglandins cause diarrhea at the beginning of labor. But for sure call your dr if you start having contractions tonight and if not call tomorrow to get checked out as blood is always a reason to make a call.
