Mommy-to-be Meltdown

Anyone else with a good meltdown story out there?

So I've been in the hospital for the last two weeks with severe preeclampsia. I am 33w/4d with twins and have a scheduled induction on Wed. Anyway, I rarely see my DH due to his busy work schedule and him holding down the house with my 10 year old stepdaughter and 3 dogs at home. We had a scheduled "date night" at the hospital tonight and I have been really, really looking forward to seeing him. I also have been craving a Fiesta Chicken salad from Applebee's as I am sooooooo over hospital food. I tried to order it online for about 1/2 hour and their website crashed. So I called to order and they left me on hold for 15 min. Meanwhile DH is on his way - over an hour drive - and planning to stop to pick up the food that I have yet to successfully order. So I call back in tears and try to submit my order but the girl can't understand me through my sobbing. Yes, sobbing. Over food. Ahhhhhh. Preggo hormones!

  • Hey I'm sure you're not the first or last pregnant woman to sob over food! Hope you enjoy your night with your husband and hope all goes well with your induction!

  • I've totally been a mess. At least you get to meet the babes on Wednesday :) very close to done
  • Aww a date night at the hospital that is so cute. I am sure your hubby wouldn't mind ordering the food and waiting for it. Give him a big hug and talk to him about how you feel.
  • I cried last night at the end of Bridesmaids telling my husband I'll never be the mother of the bride, be able to help my own daughter with her newborn nor do I want to be the crazy MIL. I love my son dearly and will love the second one just as much. I'm happy my son will have a brother but I feel like I will miss out on what my mom and I have. I guess we will have try for a third!

  • You are definitely not the first or last pregnant lady to cry over food don't worry! This past Friday DH and I were running late for our doctors appt. He was sweet enough to run downstairs and make me a bagel while I finished getting ready. When I got downstairs and saw he hadn't read my mind that I wanted an egg bagel and not a multi grain I lost it. Just started bawling over a bagel! And poor DH just trying to help. Luckily the rest of our weekend has gone much smoother. Best of luck with your induction!!
  • I cried the other day because my mom let my 5yr old play in the sand box at the park. I'm weird about sand and hate that it gets into everything. I was standing on the porch beating out his shoes and crying hysterically. My mom felt bad and apologized but then just laughed at me because I couldn't stop crying.
  • Update: I got my salad and my husband. All is right with the world. Until tomorrow's inevitable meltdown, that is! 3 more days! Wishing all you mamas good luck and minimal meltdowns!
