October 2015 Moms

Oh just you wait...

oh just you wait comments... Yea those. "Just you wait..." you lose your body and never get it back. Or, you never have time to yourself again. Or, other "martyr mommy" comments. Writing myself a letter to remind myself of all the things I hope NEVER to say or be as a mommy. I mean isn't life all about choice and perspective anyway? I don't know about anyone else, but I can't wait to (somewhat) sacrifice my youns fit body to replace it with (yes a still fit) but mature mothers body that produced a wonderful gift of a child! And I also hope to balance my time with baby so that I DO get some alone time. Anyone hear me?

Re: Oh just you wait...

  • I hear ya!  I hate those comments.  I don't need a warning.  I'm well aware that my life is going to change big-time.

  • I try to just turn them around. Instead of "just you wait" i tell myself "i cant wait until"! I cant wait until i have my sweet baby look into my eyes. I cant wait until i get to meet my perfect little one. I cant wait until he or she grabs my finger!
Who cares about things like your body changing, when you get so much in return :) i know i dont!

  • Don't worry you will
Still have alone time and be fit and all
Of Those things. I know I did and a lot of my friends as well and we are not young and in our 20s either. I wanted to tell the just you wait commenters "just you wait and see what I do"
  • The best part is the same people turn around and say how wonderful parenting is and how they miss having babies. So annoying.
  • Amen ladies! There's nothing more refreshing than hearing a mommy talk highly of being a mom. Yes, there's times to be honest and have rants. But overall I hope to be an optimist with a grateful perspective on parenthood. After all, "what you think, you are!" - Einstein
