Going Home Outfit

I am so stumped on what to take Baby Boy home in.  Due date is May 21st so it may be warm but I still think it should be a long sleeve/pant sleeper.  Anyone have their outfit yet and want to share pictures?  I'm so curious.  I feel like picking out an outfit for my DD was so much easier!

Light, but long sleeves/legs, and a hat.  It's not going to be hot, I can't imagine.  And a blanket to tuck around her if it's breezy/cool/damp.

  • I have a few outfits similar to what Canadamom posted, but for a boy. I'm less concerned about the going home outfit and more about the photo outfit. For dd, they wrapped her in a blanket and used headbands I brought. I loved the pics and used them on the birth announcement. For this guy, I bought this from etsy. They had some cuter ones but this was less expensive.

Franco Paul born 6/4/15 at 39 weeks.  Mila Francesca born 10/19/13 at 37 weeks.  Both born via C-Section after 6 years of fertility treatments, disappointments and losses. Love them!!

  • We are doing a cotton sleeper with hat and scratch mittens. I'll have a blanket in case it's a cooler day to put on the carrier. I wanted something easy to dress b
  • I've packed a couple different outfits so I have options. Never know what the weather will do but I've mostly packed long sleeves/pants. Plus newborn and 0-3 month sizes.

  • We have a cute dress in 0-3 months we're bringing, and a onesie and shorts for newborn size....plus a swaddler blanket. My family tends to have bigger babies so we're counting on her fitting into the dress.
Hoping it's warm here in Minnesota by then (due date May 21st). In the last two days we've had rainstorms, snowstorms, and 65 degree picnic weather, so who knows :)
  • I have an adorable short sleeved onesie with a pair of footed pants and a matching hat. And we're taking a thin blanket and a thicker blanket to lay over him in the car depending on the temperature. May in Washington is completely unpeedicatable! We're already getting some 70 degree weather and still dropping to 50 and lower and rainy. So who knows!! Also, we have an extra outfit that's similar just in case he doesn't fit in newborn.
  • We are in Hawaii so no long sleeves for us, but this is what I brought for going home, along with a receiving blanket just in case. I was given the advice of making sure baby has pants on so that you can buckle them into the car seat properly before leaving the hospital.
  • I'm due May 29 so I'm hoping for a warm day , but we still have cool temps and quite a bit of snow on the ground here yet, so who knows! I actually have a little long sleeve onesie, warm hat and pants with a sweater. It is a gender neutral outfit that my mom bought when I was pregnant with my first ( ten years ago!) and that is what I brought him home in. It ended up we brought our DD home in it as well when she was born, and decided to carry on the tradition with our third, and here we are having our fourth and she will be wearing it home too. :)
  • I'm bringing her home in a cute
Sleeper and hat. She will also have a onesie on under the sleeper. I'll also have a blanket to cover her up
With once she's buckled into her car seat. I had my first daughter at the same time Of year and that's what she wore home. They say whatever mom
Is wearing, newborn should be in the same plus an extra layer. They can't regulate their temp well in the beginning.

  • Early May will still be pretty warm here in CA. Keeping it simple with a lightweight sleeper and hat/mittens.

  • Due May 9th in PA expecting temps in the 60's or 70's. I'm taking long sleeves and pants and a light swaddle blanket.

  • I'm having a boy, too, and no matter the weather he'll come home in cotton footed pajamas with fold over sleeves to prevent scratches and a matching hat. Not far off from this. image

Burt's Bees Baby has the cutest coverall sets with hats. I got my baby boy a blue striped one in Preemie size and 0-3 mos size. with matching blue scratch mitts. The Preemie size is actually just a newborn size, for if he's around 8 lbs or so, and the 0-3 for if he turns out to be a bigger baby. I'm due May 11 and live in Miami so it'll be hot, but the organic cotton is so soft and breathable and he'll be in air conditioning most of the time (in the hospital, in the car on the way home, at our house, etc.) so I'm not concerned with him overheating.

This is actually the onesie, pants, and hat I'm bringing my son home in!!

  • We are bringing a few outfits. Two sleepers and one outfit with pants, a top and a sweater (with knit hat to match). I also have socks and scratch mittens packed just in case as she tends to like to suck her fingers. I didn't bother to pack a newborn outfit as the top size is 8lbs and I fully expect her to be 8-9lbs. Both families have larger babies.
  • This will be my last baby since she is #4! With my first 2 they have very traditional old fashioned outfits (roses and lace for my first girl and light blue and collar for my son). My 3rd baby had a trendy leopard print outfit with a pink tutu. So with this one I went totally different again!
  • We also got a Burt's bees sleeper & it's bring embroidered with the baby's name currently!
  • My original due date was the 5th, but due with di/di twin boys, we are being induced on the 21st. Baby b is still looking kind of small ( under 5 lbs) so I am debating whether to run to Carter's and get a preemie outfit to come home in also? I am hoping their measurements are off and he is closer to his brother's size... For more reasons than just clothes.
