Early Contractions

Hi everyone, im having contractions already and i just turned 34 weeks today. Im scared of having my baby early. This is my 3rd pregnancy but i had never had contraccions so early...I was at the hospital and all they did was give me 3 doses of meds to calm contractions but i feel the same way...any reccomendations? or anyone that is going through the same situation?

    With my third pregnancy I had terrible Braxton hicks and false labours which is not something I had experienced with the other two.
    The only thing you can do my doctor has said , is if you have more than six in an hour or regularly with a pattern to them ( and they don't let up from a warm bath), go get checked. Better safe than sorry.

    This is #4 and the only one I've had BH contractions with. They started at 31 weeks, I'm now 37 and he stayed put so far

    I had a gallbladder attack that brought on contractions at 31 weeks. I'm now 35 and he is still doing well. I have noticed with my long commute to work I will get Braxton hicks but other than baby is still cooking :)

    This is my second and I started having contractions at 26 weeks. I went to the doc and they hooked me up to the monitor, I was having them constant  4 minutes apart. I cant have the meds to stop the contractions because of other health issues. I am 37 weeks still contracting like crazy but no dilation and no early baby. My doc says sometimes our bodies just need some extra prepping for actual labor. If your doctor is not worried then you should not be either. Good luck.

    hi and thnx for your response...i went to the hospital already and all they did was to put me on bedrest...they said that im having contractions, no longer braxton kicks, but did nothing to stop them...they administered 3 njections to make them stop but it was no help so they just sent me back home

    thnx for the reply...good to know ur now 37 wks...thats my major worry, im scared of having my baby b4 37 wks...do u have any way of calming contractions or do u just have to put up with them?

    For me nothing I do calms my contractions. My doc dosnt call them braxton hicks. He says a contraction is a contraction. I can be walking sitting standing and still get them. Some make me stop everything I'm doing while others just feel tight. One good thing to keep in mind is even if you do go early most likely your baby will be fine. If you can I would stay off your feet as much as possible since gravity kicks in when you stand and can cause you to dialate. For me now I have been trying to walk as much as possible. I'm done with contractions.

    I went into labor at 33 weeks. I didn't even feel the contractions. By the time I figured out what was going on and went to the hospital I was having regular strong contractions 3 minutes apart. It took them 6 hours and lots of meds to stop the contractions. Now I still feel like crap a week later and the pressure is unbelievable. I am so scared I will go into labor again and not feel it until it is too late.
