Spotting

I had my first dr. appointment yesterday and they threw the word miscarriage out there as according to my lmp I should be further along than what the ultrasound showed. Since then I have been spotting a little but wasn't having any spotting before then. I am starting to freak out a little as I don't know if I could deal with a miscarriage since I had an ectopic pregnancy last summer. It's been hard enough getting through that. I go back on Monday morning but am really trying to be positive but since I started spotting has made me really worry.

    The spotting could be caused by the ultrasound. It can irritate the cervix. As long as it's not a lot of bright red blood try not to worry too much. I know that is a lot easier said than done. Also it's good that you will be getting another ultrasound so soon. That will hopefully put your mind at ease.

    How far off was the dating? If you ovulated even a week late it will cause the ultrasound to be a lot different this early on. According to my LMP I should be 7 weeks but I am just now 6 because I triggered on CD22 so my ultrasound at 5 1/2 weeks didn't show too much, but if my doctor had based the dating by my LMP he would have probably been worried.

    Did you try taking a test for hGC to determine its number? Maybe that will help. That's what I did when being concerned. I hope for the best.

    This! They can tell by your HCG level if the pregnancy is advancing as it should. Typically it doubles in 48 hours. Good luck to you!!

    I did get blood work done and I'm not sure if it is something they just normally test or not but it wasn't on the list so maybe they just always test it. Thank you all for being so helpful and reaffirming that it could be totally normal.

    I had blood work done today. I Think It's pretty normal. At least I hope so. I took a home test and it came up positive. When I went to the doctor they checked my urine and said it was litely positive but she said because I drink so much water that could be why. Then they sent me for my blood work. I don't get a sono it April 22nd.
