I'm living in sydney, Australia. I had my first baby here at 39. I had my baby in the public health care system and that means you see a midwife for all of your care unless there is a problem. Anyway, they had no qualms about my age at 39. There was no additional testing, etc. Now I'm 41 and just a bit nervous.
I'm just wondering what doctors are doing in the USA for anyone over 35. Any specific tests etc? I'm interested in getting the MaterniT21 test. Anything else I should have on my radar?
Re: Over 35 testing?
Then you can move to invasive testing if you want - CVS or amniocentesis.
If you wanted something like an amnio I am sure one would be made available to you. Its not something I was ever interested in pursuing.
But other than that I have no extra prenatal visits or monitoring etc. Its just like it was when I was pregnant in my 20's
