I live in Ontario and midwives are covered by OHIP. I won't be going that route but based on the experiences of my friends (we live in Toronto), you have to apply for one asap as there is a lot more demand than supply.
I'm in Ontario too. Yes like the others said, you can either have a midwife or an OB. Both are funded by OHIP. I called pretty much when I found out, and now have one. Luckily I live in Ottawa so there are a few clinics.
Yup it's covered:) I live in Hamilton and I called the day I took the pregnancy test bc it's hard to get one. I would call asap and at least get on a wait list:)
I would advise you to call a few places because last time I was pregnant I was on the waiting list for one of the places my entire pregnancy. So my family doctor had to send me for all the ultrasounds. It was a disaster.
