On/off poking feeling in lower right uterus area normal?

I'm 4.5 weeks and on and off keep feeling this poking feeling in the same spot in the lower part of my uterus area (much lower than my hip bone so I don't think it's round ligament pain). It's not painful, just sort of annoying, and it's been coming and going for about 3 days now.

This is my first so I don't know what to expect. Anyone else experienced this?? Is it normal??

  • This is my first, too. I have been experiencing some poking feelings down there, too. Comes and goes sometimes.

  • I would probably still chalk it up to ligament pain at this point. Your uterus is still very low right now.

If you are concerned about ectopic because of the location, I've had three and at 4.5 weeks I didn't really feel any different than any other pregnancy. For me at least, ectopic pain started as a generalized tenderness lower than my hips around 6 weeks and by 7 weeks there was localized pain at the site of the ectopic when I applied pressure. By 8 weeks or so, I could feel what felt like a large marble when I pressed on my lower abdomen when I was lying down. By that time it was very sore and tender and excruciating to touch. Also, spotting is very common with ectopics (also pretty common in totally normal, healthy pregnancies though).

  • I've been having this as well I believe it's round ligament pain. I had it before going to my early appointment at 5w5d and my doctor says its normal and I look healthy.
  • Thanks ladies for the insights. I guess I thought round ligament pain was more an occasional pulled muscle feeling (which I have felt on and off around my right hip bone and side abdomen). This is like something pressing its finger in the same spot that comes and goes (and much lower in my abdomen). Does that still sound like round ligament pain?

Hi, I came across your post on a search because I am having the exact same thing at 6 weeks. It feels just as you described; someone poking me over and over in the same spot about the size of a finger. It's been going on for about a week off and on. It doesn't hurt, but it is annoying. Just curious if you ever found out what it was? Thanks so much!
