Itchy Belly!

I know this is part of the stretching process, but oh my goodness my belly is so itchy! Is it driving anyone else crazy?

Re: Itchy Belly!

  • I am itching everywhere. Especially where my bra rubs my chest. It is horrible!!!! I use aveeno, cocoa butter, Nivea, etc. it's just not helping.

  • If I'm real itchy I will take a warm shower then rub a real good lotion with vitamin e and some other good stuff in it. That helps or I will try to wear just a loose tank top or sports bra.
  • I've been using lotion every day with no avail. I know it's part of the baby bump, but I had no idea it would be quite this itchy!
  • I'm really itchy too, especially my belly. I found some coconut oil in my dad's pantry and slathered it on my belly and it stopped the itching! And smelled nice :)
  • Try eucerin lotion. It's great for coverage and really keeps my belly moisturizer throughout the day.
  • Lol I was gonna make a post about feeling extra itchy lately. Used to be just my arms and legs, but now my belly and side boobs are definitely feeling the itch! Trying so hard not to scratch and try to distract myself by applying ample amount of lotion. Which helps!
  • I find that maternity pants with the elastic belly band make it worse, so avoid those on long days!
As a side note, if arms and legs, and things that aren't necessarily stretching are itching, make sure you mention it to your Dr too. Though unlikely, it can be a sign of liver issues
  • Coconut Oil!!  I didn't discover this until pregnancy and I am now addicted.  I put in on regularly and rarely get itchy.
  • I have been using coconut oil since I found out I am expecting & I rarely feel itchy.

Here here on the coconut oil. This is my second pregnancy. I used it during my first itching stopped right away. Been using it with the second and haven't had any itching issues. In the morning when I get out of the shower I use it neck to toe and it's wonderful. I also hear it's supposed to help prevent stretch marks.
  • I've been using bio-oil since the beginning! It's helped me a lot!
  • I'm obsessed with burts bees mama belly butter. I'm never itchy when I put it on :)
