5 weeks and feeling FINE!

Hi, there! First baby here. My husband and I were trying to conceive for about a year and decided to STOP obsessing in March (and give ourselves a break)! Surprised and over the moon when we conceived the month we didn't track anything! (God has such a sense of humor!)

When I found out I was pregnant I was 4 weeks along... now I am a little over 5 weeks and feeling 100% normal and great! ZERO symptoms other than very faint breast tenderness. I know I am still early but is it normal to feel amazing and normal still? Anyone else feeling great?

I have already went to the OBGYN to confirm a strong pregnancy through a blood test.

Thank you!

Re: 5 weeks and feeling FINE!

  • No words of advice here as I am not as far along! Just sending thoughts your way.

Although I have had several friends never really experience the terrible first trimester. I'm sure you're just fine and one of the lucky ones!

  • Congrats!!  I have heard women who have good first trimesters :)  I have had a cold since I found out I was pregnant, so it has been hard for me to figure out what is from the cold and what is from the baby.

  • Congratulations! I am 6w 1d and have had very few (if any) symptoms. I had a cold/achey thing going on for a couple days. Baby related? No clue. I've been a little tired from time to time. Baby related or late bedtime? No clue. :)

But other than that, I feel completely normal.

There are a couple other threads about this...from the sounds of it, everyone's body is responding in its own way.
  • Thanks! Does anyone know if it's genetic? I believe my mom didn't begin getting sick or feeling pregnant until 7-8 weeks (in which then she tested and found out she was expecting!)

I am feeling calm and thankful my body is responding the way it is... so far! :)

Not sure if it's genetic but my mum says she didn't recall getting any morning sickness with her pregnancies (just a bit of nausea) so I hope that's the case for me...

Currently 5w4d and I've experienced a lot of symptoms (apart from morning sickness and cravings) but some have come and not come back and others rotate and take turns.
The symptoms at the moment is sore boobs which have been constant since finding out I was pregnant, occasional mild cramping, lower dull backache and frequent urination. Also today I seem to eat but not be full at all!
  • I'm with you! 5w today and can honestly say I don't recognize any symptoms! Maybe very slight breast tenderness if anything and about once a day will feel slight cramping. Hopefully it continues!
  • 5w2d here and I feel great as well. I had cramping during week three off and on and it was reassuring. Now that I'm five weeks, I've felt nothing and have been perfectly fine. I haven't had my first appointment yet, but I feel like everything is OK. Best wishes to you all! I'm hoping to skate through this pregnancy without any nausea and vomiting. That would be wonderful!
  • My symptoms usually kick in a lot more seriously around 7 weeks, but I do feel some stuff now. That being said, the severity has varied greatly from pregnancy to pregnancy. It was really bad with my first two babies and has been milder with the last four.

  • 5w1d here and other than a stuffy nose, I feel great too, other than needing a nap everyday after work... But that's not any different from before ;)
  • How exciting!!!!

I have breast tenderness, a terrible stuffy nose and an awful cough. I haven't had a good deep breath in almost a week. I'm not sure if it's a cold/allergies or my body producing more mucus due to the pregnancy.

I am 5weeks 4days. I'm the exact same. I feel great, just slight breast tenderness. :)
  • I'm 4 weeks (positive test last Thursday). This is my 2nd. My first I didn't remember any first trimester symptoms except sore breasts and fatigue. I feel great too! A little tired but I'm always tired bc I'm super active and the spring/summer heat is upon us.
  • I am 5 weeks 5 days and I feel great! No symptoms whatsoever. I have been questioning it too. I have 2 more weeks till my first OB appointment so I am trying to remain calm and positive!
  • chelseymmcghee my husband and I were trying for 2.5 years and we did the same thing in March - no tracking/temping/opks and I was in SHOCK! I also got my bfp on his birthday which made it extra special! Congrats to all!
  • I'm 5w4d and feel pretty good. I had a little bit of breast tenderness at first that's much better now, a little bit of cramping that is also gone now and back aches have set in. I've had a back ache almost every night for the last few days.

I assume they're pregnancy related but other than that I feel fine.

  • Oh, I forgot to mention, I don't remember sickness setting in until around 7-8 weeks with my first.
