Stretch marks!!!

I'm 36 weeks today, and so far I had no stretch marks until today.... Even, all of a sudden I have a whole lot of big ones, this is my second pregnancy, I never got them in my first pregnancy. I am not surprised though coz baby has been stretching so much these last few days, I could actually feel my skin stretching and feeling tight. I'm using bio oil but not sure it's gonna help, we'll see!

FTM 35wks, I don't have any right now, but wont be surprise if it shows up. Time, hydration and oil massage will help minimize the scar.

  • I'm almost 35 weeks and still none for me. Really hoping to not get them at since my mom never did and they say it's genetic. I've been using Palmer 's coco butter lotion since the first tri do hopefully that helps too.
  • I'm 34 weeks I have had them for a few weeks now:/ I cried when DH showed them to me.
  • i use oil and lotion every day, but still getting lots of crazy purple stretch. I think i'd just be getting even more if there was no skin care going on. They'll fade in a few years....kind of...
  • My mom assured me stretch marks didn't run in our family. But then they started showing up before I even started showing! They itch like crazy too. :(
  • I didn't get stretch marks with my first until I was 42 weeks pregnant. I was devastated. I've gotten more with each baby and have tried everything from oils, to butters, to creams. I've heard they're genetic too. My mom got them like crazy but my oldest sister (and also the smallest girl in our family at 5'1 and 100 pounds soaking wet) had a 10 pound baby, never used creams or lotions and didn't get a single stretch mark!!!! It sucks but I'm planning on a mommy makeover at some point.

I got them really bad with my first pregnancy. They stretch from my pubic bone all the way past my belly button. Some of them are so wide towards the pelvic area that they're almost as wide as my pinky finger. I not only got them on my tummy but also my hips and tops of my thighs. I felt like my body was ruined!! They do fade over time from purple to white but there currently isn't anything you can do about them especially when they're this severe. Believe me I've tried it all. I've learned to live with them but I haven't worn a two piece bathing suit or anything that might reveal my stomach ever since. That kinda stinks but I earned them!

I have them on my lower stomach, but they are fairly light and not too deep...but worse on my breasts....I am more upset about my breasts. The stretch marks are SO dark. I went from a B cup to a C cup at the beginning of the second trimester and I could feel my boobs stretching and itching. SO unimpressed because they aren't very attractive anymore...and now I'm worried about sagging! I really feel like I'm in someone else's body...I guess I just have to learn to accept. It is what it is.

I've used lotions and oils since day one too...no lucky genetics for me!!
  • I just got them this week also, I'm 35 weeks today. I had a couple on my sides and thought I dodged the bullet. Hoping they won't get too much worse. I know it's vain, but I also cried when I saw them. Crazy to watch your body change so much! Hugs to the mommas!
  • Im 35+4 and havent gotten any yet but i do have purple reddish spider veins all over both sides of my bump. Could this be and indication or the beginning of stretch marks at all? My mom has stretch marks but she also had five kids, so i imagine that plays a part in it as well. Im guessing i wont get any till the very end.
  • With my first I didn't get any until the last week and then more AFTER she came.  I was like WTH.  I have some this time around but not much.
  • I think oils and lotions help your skin stay moisturized but I honestly don't think they prevent or help stretch marks. I use bio oil too though because I love it! I already have stretch marks though.

  • My first pregnancy I thought I lucked out until the last few weeks they showed up below my belly button and down my stomach :( they will fade though from red to a white you can't see as well so don't stress too much. It's a mark that shows what you went through to carry your beautiful baby. This time around I haven't gotten any new ones but I'm still only 33 weeks. I feel smaller than my first pregnancy so maybe my son stretched me out to the max last time lol fingers crossed. Also try not to itch them it will make it worse!
  • I didn't get any last time, but DS came at 38+3. I think if he had stayed in another week I would have gotten them. I feel so much bigger this time and feel like it could happen any day. So far none.
I got them bad on my boobs last time and they faded, and I dont have any on my boobs right now. We will see what the next month brings.

  • I started getting mine at 25 weeks.. At 37 weeks now it's easy to say they are bad. Tops of my thighs, inside my thighs down to the inside of my knees, breasts, All over my sides and all over my stomach to just above my belly button. Some over 4 inches long and a finger wide! Cousin told me I look like a zebra..

Mine were pretty much purple! I still can't believe they have completely gone away. One day I was just like "whoa honey my stretch marks went away!"
Wish I had some advice on how to get rid of them. Mine just seemed to fade after about 6 months.
(Side note my nipples are still super weird after nursing. They are different sizes and point different directions. Lol so embarrassing!!)

  • The best was when my 5 year old told me that my belly looks like bread dough (post delivery of my youngest).
  • Yea that happened to me none on my stomach but I got out the shower and I have them on my but and thighs. It whatever, I call them my tiger stripes hahah
  • FTM, 36 weeks. My stretch marks started early on my breasts...probably at 20 weeks or so. Then I got them on my inner thighs. Next was my back...I suppose I would call it the love handle area, though I don't have love handles lol. Now I also have them starting on the front of my thighs as well as on my lower tummy. I've been using belly balm and lotion with cocoa butter to see if it helps at all. I don't think it is. At first I was pretty upset but I am fine with having them now. Nothing to be ashamed of. :)

I think I have pretty bad stretch marks but according to my pregnant friend she cannot see them! They aren't really dark and wide but I can definitely see them!!! Oh well, my babies are worth it!

Then again, I am very critical of myself, I USED TO BE...a fitness model...wahhhh
