How do you wear hands free bra?

Silly question from FTM, but how do you wear/use the hands free pumping bra? I have the Medela bra and tried it on last night. It obviously doesn't cover the nipples, so do you put it on just to pump or do you wear it throughout the day with nursing pads to cover nipples? I'm confused on how to best use it, which is probably simple and I'm overthinking it!

    I bought a cheap sports bra and cut holes in it. I only wear it when I'm pumping...hope that helps :)

    I did the same exact thing with a few of my cheap sports bras. Just cut some holes in them at the nipple and wear Breast pads! Super easy and cheap! Return that expensive medela bra!

    I have the Medela bra and I just put it on to pump. I wear a normal nursing bra when I'm not pumping.
