Steroid Shot!

Got my steroid shots for my twins!! Doctor is hoping for another couple weeks. I'm 29wks 5days. Cervix is at 1.2 which makes me so nervous. Baby A 3lbs8oz Baby B 2lbs14oz. Anyone else have to get the shot?

    Yup! I got it around 23 weeks. I had to get two sets of shots 24 hours of one another. One in the arm and the other in my butt cheek. The nurses used some long, scary looking needles too. It hurt like hell :(

    Depending on how things go I might have to get a second set in the near future.

    Yeah I have to get the 2nd shot tomorrow. The needle wasn't bad for me. It reminded me of the ivf shots I took so it was fine. A little sore now but otherwise fine

    @tdotson0722 other than the steroid shots for the babies, are you doing anything for your cervix? I am taking weekly progesterone shots. That's supposed to help stop it from dilating/effacing which is working for me right now. The best of luck to you. I can imagine how nervous you must be.

    No just modified bedrest. I should ask about that when I go tomorrow. But I don't know if it would really help since Baby A is right at my cervix

    I had the steroid shots at 29 weeks 5days and 29w6d - one in each butt cheek. Sometimes they will repeat them if it's been more than 2 weeks. However, they don't do them after 32 weeks because they aren't shown to have a statistically significant effect - so we aren't repeating them.

    I had 2 sets of shots in week 24. After 5 weeks of hospital bed rest for SC I am home resting hoping babys cook for a few more weeks. Good luck to you and your babas

    I had two at 26wks for PTL. I also have a cerclage in place and so far my cervix is at 3.2cm so that's good! I'm almost 31wks now, but my blood pressure is all over the place so I'm on bedrest, not sure how much longer my doc will keep me pregnant with these high bp's. I'm hoping for at least another 4wks!
