36 Week Checkup

So tomorrow I go to my OB. I was wondering, is this next appointment when he will do a pelvic exam? I can't remember if he said that's what he said we're doing or not and don't want to be surprised when I get there lol. Even though it isn't really all that awkward to me. I have an awesome doctor!

    I think 36 weeks is the strep b test and since you already have to take your pants off he will probably do an exam.

    I had my 36 week appt today and had the GBS test done but won't have a cervical check until next week. I've heard of people getting their first check at either 36 or 37 weeks, so I think it depends on the doctor and how your pregnancy is going.

    Had both strep b and an internal today at 36w 1d. He said I prob won't get anymore internals though

    I've also heard that some doctors don't even check until 40+ weeks if everything is going well.

    I am 36w tomorrow and at my apt has gbs swab and internal so it may happen

    My doctor asked if I was having any contractions and when I said no she said it was up to me to choose whether to have an internal or not. I opted out since I heard that it really hurts if you are not dialated, and I don't think I am dialated at all.

    At my 36 week appt she did the GBS test and felt around my abdomen to make sure she is head down, that's it. As long as everything is normal, my Dr office will only do cervical dilation exams by request. So there are no set appointments for it. They said it doesn't change/do anything (just a check in order to guesstimate). So it's totally up to the mom-to-be if or when she wants to. I'll be 37 weeks this Friday. I think I may wait until 38 and request one.
