Going in Wednesday evening. Would like to know if anybody has had experience with cervidil and pitocin to move things along? Is the pitocin as bad as I've been told? Could cervidil be all I need?? FTM and I'm not sure what to expect. Any advice or personal experiences would be nice! Thank you.
Re: Being Induced..
I would recommend pain relief for the pitocin drip. I had an epidural before they began and it was the best decision I made. The contractions you experience are very intense. Your body will respond differently to somebody else's though, I gather it is a different experience for everyone.
My best advice to you would be to go in for the induction open-minded and don't rule anything out. Double the amount of clothes you were going to bring initially and be prepared for a long stay- that way you will be pleasantly surprised if the induction is a quick process.
Good luck- you'll be fine
So definitely keep your mind open to anything happening, and eat a good meal before hand! Because you can't eat anything once you start the process. Good luck!
Part of the reason my induction took so long is because the delivery suite were so busy that they kept having to delay procedures.
I'm sure yours won't take that long but I would be prepared to be there more than two days!
Good luck xx
