I am feeling a lot less movement today...is it possible she is just sleeping all day? Is it possible that she's moving less cuz she's getting ready for labor? When should I call the doctor? Any feedback appreciated please
If you have movement concerns please call your doctor's office. After 28 weeks you should be feeling 10 kicks within 2 hours. Try laying on your left side and drink some cold water or juice to stimulate movement.
I would call the doctor for your own peace of mind. I think we are all pretty sensitive right now to anyone who says they aren't feeling movement. Besides, this is their jobs, its what you pay them for.
I know I have days where I feel less movement, but if I can't resolve what I'm thinking about it in my own mind within an hour or so I've made the decision that I will just go ahead and call. Better safe than sorry
ETA - the time I have been in this situation I did the juice and sit for a while and began to feel movement fairly soon after. If you want to try that and get no response I would for sure call. Best wishes
According to the ultrasound tech I saw today, jabbing them vigorously and a lot with the handheld device seemed to work. However, being on the receiving end of those jabs I can say that it's not comfortable. :P
definitely try something sugary and lay on your left side. If you don't get a reaction Id call your doctor. My doctor says they check movement all the time and never to hesitate to come in if I'm concerned.

I second the flashlight trick!! It worked instantly! Also call your doctor, as this community tragically has seen, you never know so err on the side of caution.
I was wondering about you, thanks for checking back in! I'm glad to hear you saw the doctor and that everything is fine in there. Maybe now that they know how much BH you are having and that there is a possibility of early labor they will not be so quick to tell you to relax and not come in. (That really annoyed me that your drs office was being so dismissive of you)
I get nervous sometimes because I feel like I go longet periods of time without feeling movement and talked to my doctor about it at my last appt. I teach pre-k students with special needs so I am moving constantly throughout the day and she feels that is why. I do tend to feel a lot more movement when I am home and relaxing but it still makes me nervous when I read about people who feel thier LO constantly.
@staceyfern I freaked out this weekend when I wasn't feeling baby move like before..but I was on my feet being really busy for 12 hours, sleeping, and back to work for the same. Now that I've been off its back to moving around like crazy while I'm not. Our movement tends to lull baby so that's why they're not as active. Don't compare your patterns to others, try and find your baby's patterns and contact your provider when it deviates from that (IE usually takes 20 minutes for your kick count and this one took 2 hours)

Re: less movement
Have you tried laying on your left side after drinking cold water and eating something?
If you are concerned, your safest route would be to contact your physician/midwife.
