I have two weeks to go and he is head down, but hadn't dropped. Cervix is not dilating at all. Any home remedies? Any tips/ideas? Anything at this point would be helpful!
Nothing really works unless your body is ready, but it's all just the same things you've probably already heard. Sex, walking, but nipple stimulation, that is similar to a nursing baby, will actually cause contractions. Pressure points work too. YouTube is a good source to learn how and where. There are plenty more, but nothing that is proven. I've been doing this stuff and more and I'm still past my due date with no progress. My body's just not ready.
I'm in the same situation. A friend said echinacea tea helped her. I'm trying that tomorrow. Also, walking up big hills. Eating pineapples. Swimming for an hour or more. Doing squats. Even making the baby uncomfortable has put another of my friends in labor. She would crouch in awkward positions or sit in wired positions to make the baby move out of discomfort.
That's interesting I haven't heard of pineapples before !
In order for that to work you would need to eat a whole pineapple a day. Nothing is proven to work though aside from sex (there's a hormone in semen that is the same hormone used when being induced). Although it may be uncomfortable to you, let your baby stay in and develop further. Your LO will come when he/she is ready.
Even sex doesn't work unless your body/baby is ready. I know because we've been at it 1-2 times a day for the last 2 weeks and I'm at 40w + 5d! Really, you can try every old wives tale... Baby comes when baby wants to come. Or when medically induced.
Well, since you aren't actually overdue yet...my answer will be give it time. The lungs are the last thing to mature, so why rush the kid out if they are still developing?
google can help you with other ideas if you are trying to rush the baby out before it is ready.

My OB said that the baby doesn't have to "drop" and your cervix doesn't have to be dilated in order to go into labor. So let's not get hung up on what should and shouldn't be happening. It'll happen.
