My doctor said we may be looking at an elected c-section because the baby was breech at 37 weeks. She hasn't done an ultra sound to confirm this. I'm actually the one who suggested that I thought the baby was breech, until then my doctor didn't even check. Anyone else know what standard procedure is? I am not sure if my doctor is just being lax and would rather just do a c-section without confirming the baby's position. She told me all three of her kids were c-section so not sure if she is being biased. Thoughts? When does the doctor actually confirm position before confirming I need a c-section?

Re: Scheduled breech c-section without a position scan
"Doc - I am not going to consent to elective surgery for a breech delivery unless I see on an ultrasound that baby is in fact breech. Please get the u/s machine or give me the referral to get the scan done at the u/s office. Thank you"

P.S. Glad you got that 2nd opinion and u/s!
Good luck!!
As a person preparing to go in for a c-section (second time mom) for the safety of me and my baby, you could choose your words a bit better. While I agree that a scan for this person is appropriate, your words are insensitive for those of is requiring this path.
So those are just 2 positive stories to hopefully lift your spirits and make you feel a bit better!
