Have you had to give up any food/drinks because of morning sickness?

So I'm still drinking coffee but keeping it under the 200mg caffeine limit... and i've noticed my morning sickness hits right after my coffee. I'm going to give it up completely tomorrow and see if that makes it better.

Anybody else noticing certain foods or drinks that make nausea worse?

Re: Have you had to give up any food/drinks because of morning sickness?

  • Coffee made mine 1000 times worse :( I get acid reflux really bad with pregnancy so I had to give it up. That is actually how I knew I was prego before the positive test. I had my paraguard removed Feb. 6th and had my LMP start that day the acid reflux started about the 14th of February. So I had to have been prego the week after my LMP. Will hopefully find out if I'm accurate today:)

  • I gave up coffee because it had my morning sickness starting a little earlier. It still came no matter what but to keep that hour or two in the morning of only feeling a little miserable instead of a lot miserable I quit. But honestly it didn't matter, I was down to eating toast, crackers, and Popsicles. Just started taking promethazine yesterday and it makes me feel groggy and spacey but it's been an absolute miracle worker with my nausea and I'm actually sitting here dreaming of a cup of coffee! I think I could finally handle it!

  • Coffee and most caffeine filled drinks unfortunately :-(. I love my morning coffee but after having it it would make me sick, clue number 1 that I was prego. I don't miss it too much- I miss the routine a bit but I've switched to juice and feel much better :-)

  • Any meat is a definite cause for my morning sickness to go all turbo on me. It's horrible. I'm a steak and potatoes kinda girl. All I want is a hamburger, but I don't want it twice.
  • Coffee and the smell of chicken makes me run to the bathroom :(

Also anything greasy, like pizza or burgers, don't stay in my system too long.
  • I switched to decaf back when I got pregnant with my daughter (she's now 2.5) and never went back, but currently the idea of coffee makes me sick... Along with anything else that's yummy. :(
  • I miss my coffee dearly, but the thought of it (or the smell of it from a coworkers cube) is enough to make me sick.  I have a major sweet tooth and usually love sweet breakfast foods (chocolate croissants, chocolate muffins, french toast with all kinds of syrupy goodness, etc) make my stomach turn.  Now I just eat bland foods and it is so sad.  Even at night I pass on cake, brownies and cookies which I NEVER do when I'm not pregnant.  Even with my first I kept eating sweets, but not this time around.
