I got an ultrasound at 5 1/2 weeks due to bleeding at my pap- everything looks great with heartbeat too but tech observed a heart shaped uterus? Likely no issue just other side will collapse to make room for baby... Anyone with the same?
My friend has a heart shaped uterus but didn't know it until delivery when they discovered that her baby was not head down after all because he had got stuck on once side because of the heart shape. Everything turned out fine, she just had a c section. As long as you are monitored so that the baby turns before he gets too big to turn, everything should be fine.
I have one, you just have to be monitored because there is a chance of cervix issues/ the baby not turning, you also have a higher risk of c section. My son is perfectly healthy and was born 9 lbs with no issues during my pregnancy. I did choose to have a c-section though at 40w2d.
I have a bicornuate (heart shaped) uterus. I found out when I was TTC. I'm now pregnant with my 3rd peanut. When I was 7 months they did a scan to see if she was head down yet. Thankfully my little money was always head down. After my first, my uterus kinda stretched so the "rounds" were stretched out and it hasn't caused any concern.
Re: Heart shaped uterus? Anyone?
Happy and healthy pregnancy!
