What are your best tips for tots that have started to hate bath time? She also dislikes diaper changes, both seem to be a lot about control for her. How can we move past the battle of the wills?
Do you do sensory in the tub? We use shaving cream or the tub crayons! Both can get messy so she is allowed to play for about 10 minutes and then its time to clean up. If she throws a fit, in a calm collected and quiet voice, I let her know that if she doesn't behave she wont be allowed to have these fun things in the bath tub!
We have also used glow sticks and turned the lights out! That one is my favorite
If kiddo puts up a fight at bath time just make sure they are in the room when you get the activities around. it should gain some interest!
DS still likes his baths but fights the diaper changes. He likes little squirt toys and his big brother entertains him a lot. For diaper changes, the only thing that seems to work is if I make a silly face and noise while doing it or beat box rapping gets his attention. I also have a few car seat toys that hold his attention for a bit.
I'll admit I had to spend a few weeks taking a bath with my daughter to get her out of her baby tub (which she outgrew) and into the full size tub. Probably took about 10 baths with her which sucks bc I'm not ready for bath and pjs at 7:30 lol. But it worked! As for diaper changes, oi vey. I bough huggies lil movers pull ups so she could at least step I. The diaper since she hates laying down. LO is 14 months.
The more things that you let her do for herself, the happier she will be. If you need to wash her hair, give her a little bit of soap to rub into her hair, and then you take a turn. Get a little step stool, so she can get into the tub by herself. Let her help turn on the water. Talk about the different things that you see in the tub, "Oh wow, look at that shiny silver faucet. I can see your face in there."

My 13 month old uses the toilet all day long, and usually stays dry through the night. She only has two or three misses during the day.
