This is to follow up on my posts in TWW for 3/30.  Thank you to all the above for their well wishes! I was 16 dpo during the posting and was debating on testing either the same day or wait until 18dpo since I knew that my lp was around 16 days. I waited until 18 dpo and since I've had trouble sleeping for a few days, woke up early, and took the FRER test. OMG! Two lines showed up, one was pretty faint so I thought maybe it was a random blip but when I searched online, I realized that the faint line was the control line and the dark line was the test line!

As I mentioned before, what really makes this special to me is that our wedding anniversary was this weekend. I was totally not expecting this since we've been trying for a few months and it was the first month I was trying OPK tests. I went out and bought additional tests (since I only had one left that I already used) the night before, and also bought some baby booties (just in case) - I was going to use them to surprise DH if I did get a BFP or just hold onto them if I got a BFN. I still can't believe it's BFP.

I surprised DH with everything the day of our anniversary and he was super duper surprised as well. I didn't tell him in words, I just let him open his "gifts". Their was a lot of weird looks until he also unwrapped the pee test. I don't know if it's completely hit us fully yet (although, I'm reading like crazy now)!

I need to get into contact with the gyno/ob or personal physician to figure out our next steps.

Thank you again all for the luck!  Good luck to everyone else here!

Betas are when they do a blood draw to check your hcg levels. They will do the first one then do at least one more to make sure it's doubling. They may also want to check your progesterone. Not all drs order betas but it's very common with AMA and/or history of loss. So when you call to make an appt they may want you to come in for the bloodwork before scheduling the first ultrasound.

  • Thank you everyone! The support means a lot!

On a random note, I tried calling the doctor to schedule an appt but they said that I have to at least wait until I'm 8 weeks along before they'll see me. DH and I wanted to see the doctor sooner since we're supposed to go on a cruise in 2 weeks. They've scheduled me for the doctor after we get back. I hope the delay is ok. Not sure if traveling is ok or not or if there are definite no-no's etc. I've read a lot (and it scares me).

    Anyways, thanks again everyone!

Congratulations!  I understand that traveling this early is a little scary, and I hope that everything goes absolutely perfect on your trip.   Have a great time!

    2 Clomid IUI's + 4 injectable IUI's= 5 BFNs and 1 mc

  • 8 weeks is pretty standard to wait for the first appointment. Unless you are high risk some doctors might make you wait even longer. That being said you can probably force the issue if it's important to you, you just might need to see someone other than your regular doctor if availability is an issue and/or pay more if insurance doesn't cover the visit ;) good news is a cruise is probably just fine in your first trimester! Have fun on your trip and try and relax :)
  • Oh yay! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
    Anniversary
