Charting question- slow rise

I haven't charted enough cycles to know if this is unheard of for me but it's really confusing. The cycles I've charted I had a big jump the day after O. I didn't get a jump this cycle, I got a slow rise three days in a row and it didn't go as high as I'm used to. Now it's hanging around the same range, a little lower but still above coverline. Does this sound like an anovulatory cycle or have any of you had an occasional slow rise when you normally have a jump? I just don't know what to think. Grrr.

Re: Charting question- slow rise

  • Hmmm - I know I usually have a noticeable jump and not a slow rise.  Can you link your chart?

  • I usually have a noticeable jump, but some cycles I get a slow rise. They are harder to pinpoint the exact day, but usually w multiple luteal phase points I can estimate a 2-3 day range.

  • I'm using a different app from FF. It doesn't figure out O for you so you have to mark a temp shift yourself. I'll upload a pic. I guessed CD17 because there was a slight dip and my cervix was high and open that day, then my temp slowly started to rise the next day.

  • hmmmm - cd 17 is a possibility.  I also think that cd 19 or cd 21 could be o day as well looking at your temps.  Hopefully you'll see a sustained temp rise and be able to know for sure in the next couple of days.

I looked back at my charts on ff and I always have a pretty dramatic increase the morning after o.  I've never had a slow rise, but our bodies are jerks and do what they want.

  • I didn't chart a whole lot but I always had a jump. I'm thinking cd19 as a possibility too. But I am not an expert by any means.
  • Thanks guys. I was hoping to get a very clear O so I could be on my merry way and be done with this stupid cycle! No, it just gets more and more frustrating. I don't even want to think about it anymore but, ya know...can't help it.

I don't see how I could possibly still be waiting to O at this point. The longest cycle I ever had was 31 days. So I have to conclude either it's anovulatory or my body is deciding to mess with me and watch me squirm. Either way it stinks!!

  • Well my temp went up again today and it's now the highest it's been this cycle. I really think I must be post O just not sure which day O was. Doesn't seem likely I would have had O yesterday because my cervix was low again and I'm pretty sure it was closed. I had some cramping really early this morning. Who knows...guess I'll just have to see what happens. I could be completely wrong. I'm leaving my guess as is for now.

  • This cycle is quite a rollercoaster for you, lady. Fingers crossed for you.

  • The O day can be so hard to detect sometimes. I wish there was an easier way to know for sure that O did actually occur. It can be so frustrating. I guess you'll know sooner or later...fingers crossed!
