STM Due Date fun

I thought it would be fun for everyone to post when they gave birth with their 1st child... #2, #3.. etc. You can also add how long your labor was for each child if you want! Also fun for 1st timers to see how rare it is to actually give birth on your actual due date!

I gave birth at 39w6d - Just a day early of my due date! And was in labor about 20+ hours.
Currently waiting on #2!

I gave birth to DS 36w1day- about 4 weeks early.

At this point hoping #2 stays in a little longer.

ETA labor was about 16-18 hours.

40+5 here for my first.  Labor was @15 hours and took an hour and a half to push him out since he was sunny side up.

  • DS was born at 40 weeks + 3 days. Labor was 45 hours

This time around I may come earlier than my original due date. I'm measuring a week ahead and going in for an ultrasound in two weeks to confirm the moving if my EDD.
  • DS was born 36w6d.  I never know how to calculate how long my labor was.  I started having contractions around 9:00 AM, went to the hospital around 4:00 PM, pushed for 4 hours then had a c-section, DS was born at 10:25 PM so is that 13 hours total?

DS#1: 39w6d & from the time I got to the hospital till he was born was 4hrs 20 mins.
DS#2: 38w & from the time I got to the hospital till he was born was an hour & a half maybe less and I pushed a few times before he literally came flying out.
DS#3: 39w & he came same time frame if not sooner as my second. A few pushes he was out.
Now I'm praying this time around is the same thing as my last two but its also been almost seven years since my youngest so my body may not be as quick to get him out.

45 HOURS. I will stop complaining about my 20! :) I am also measuring a week early! Dr. doing an ultrasound to see if we need to move EDD also!

This gives me a lot of hope. It took me over two hours to push DS out. Since he had such a huge head, I'm hoping that this time it'll be two pushes and done.
  • #1 38 weeks exactly 10 hours from water break to baby in arms. #2 38.3 weeks, 11 hours from water breaking to baby in arms. #3 36.4 weeks placenta PREVIA via c section.
#4 please be good to me like the previous 3. :)
  • Induced at 40 +2. 15 hours of labor, including 2 hrs of pushing, after which she came FLYING out because all of a sudden I tore up and down!
  • Tore up????? That sounds TERRIFYING :((
  • @Serenamarr, I was terrified after the fact, too, (especially considering it took two surgeons to "fix me" back up!), but I never had much pain from it, only taking ibuprofen a few times. The most terrifying thing was thinking about and actually going poop for two weeks following!! Kept thinking I might re-tear, but I didn't :)
  • DD #1: 39 weeks exactly, 7 hour labor.
    DD #2: 37 weeks, 3 days 10 hour labor.

    Waiting on DS!!!
  • DS was born at 39w2d. Water broke then failed induction csection (33hrs from water break to baby in arms)

  • DD & DS both born the evening of 40w3d.

DD (my first): 17.5 hours start to finish
DS: 2-2 1/2 hours start to finish
  • DD1 - 41w6d. 16 hours from pitocin induction to baby. 45mins pushing.

DD2 - 40w6d. Went into labor naturally at 11pm the night before scheduled induction. 7 hours to baby. 30 mins pushing.

Hoping to not go past my due date again! Baby boy is measuring big so also have my fingers crossed he's not too much harder to push out than my 6.5 lb girls.
  • #1 - 40+5 = 7 hours start to finish( natural)
    #2- 40+2 = 4 hours (natural)
    #3 - 39+5 = 3 hours ( epidural )
    #4 - 39 +5 = 4 hours ( epidural & induced)
  • My first was 40wks5days and I was in labor for 15 hours 14 minutes.
  • I had DD two days early. My water broke at 2:30am and I was in labor until 6:30pm, so 16 hours total labor time.
  • Had Jaden four days later than due date, which was August 15. Had him on the 19th. Had contractions for 24hrs. No epidural three pushes and he arrived! This time its June 16th and I hope it goes the same way....fast.I don't want to push for hours like I hear other people do sometimes. That sounds exhausting!
  • DD: 41+3. Induced due to abnormally low fluid. 24 hours of pitocin labor, 4+ hours of pushing, csec. Hoping to vbac this time

  • DS1 arrived at 39 weeks, 4days. Was in labor with our first for 15hrs. Pushed for about 15 min. Praying things go just as well this time around!!
  • I was 4 days early... No memory of how long actual labor was but I went in around 11 and he was born at 8:50 AM... They made me walk the halls until I threw up and that sped things along! Morning births are great because you get an extra night in the hospital!
  • 39 weeks exactly. No labor. Scheduled c-section! In and out of surgery in 59 minutes.

  • Wow I'll be the first to say my first daughter came on her due date! Water broke the night before and I never progressed so 24 hrs later I was getting a csection.
  • 41+6. Went in to labor Friday before scheduled Monday induction. Water broke around noon, acupuncture for induction at 6pm, labor started around 10pm, baby born at 6:30 am after about 20 minutes of pushing. Great thread idea. Love reading it so far.

  • 39+3. Water broke in the middle of the night. I was in labor for 24 hours and pushed for 3 hours. Hoping this time goes faster... Especially the pushing!
  • First was born at 38wks after 24 hours of labour (12 active). Took three pushes over about 8 minutes.
  • DS 1 40+5 days 18hr labor then ended up with a csection
DD 2 no labor scheduled section Breech baby
Waiting on my scheduled csection on #3 now
  • @henrytviii fill me in more on the. Accupuncture induction ? I've heard of induction massages ..... Curious.
  • DD - induced at 37 weeks. Cervidel placed at 10:30 am which within 2 hours started labor (which OB did not expect as it usually just ripens cervix in FTM). DD was born at 6:57 pm.
  • DS born at 41+6
    Total labor time: 15 hours
    Total pushing time: 1 hour
Blessed Mama to the sweetest boy in the world (11/9/13), one angel baby, and two fur babies: Mattie Dog and Stanley Cat.
  • DS1- 37 wks in labor for 14 hrs
DS2- 36 wks in labor for 12 hrs
DD- 38 wks in labor for 7 hrs
    DS3 37+1 in labor for 6 hrs

My OB is slightly nervous about this next one...since I go early. And once my water breaks it's usually only 30 minutes until baby is out. Was 28 minutes exactly with my last baby. And I live 45 minutes from the hospital. Lol
  • Gave birth to my DS at 42w1d. Went in to be induced at 5pm on 42w0d and he was born about 32 hours later. Only 14 of those hours were actual labor though, the first 18 were just me laying in bed with the gel on my cervix to soften it.  I would say I was in active (hard) labor for about 6 hours.  He was born vaginally, but I had pitocin, and epidural, and an episiotomy.

I don't want to be induced this time around and am planning an unmedicated/low intervention birth. Because of this I'm much more relaxed. I'm due June 22, but I don't expect him to come until July. Patience... Patience is so important. He will come when he is ready. I don't mind going 41, 42, or even 43 weeks (assuming he is not in distress). He'll come when he comes.

FYI, a baby that is born past their due date is NOT "late". The average for a first born baby is 40w6d. And you would have to be COMPLETELY sure of your conception date (most people are not, unless they were charting, or had IVF). I was charting and I know my conception date. But because I ovulated on CD22, I'm not as far along as an OBGYN would say I am. Calculating by my last period, this baby is due June 15. But I KNOW because I was charting that he is in fact due a week later. This information is important, because without it, I would have a doctor pressure me to be induced because baby is "2 weeks late", when in fact he is only a week past the "due date". My OBGYN has no problem going by the date in my chart though, so 6/22 it is.

Due dates are meaningless. Women are not atomic clocks, and babies come when they come. I would bet that most women who deliver "1 or 2 weeks late" are actually right on time, but ovulated later than they thought. Unless you were charting, you wouldn't know for sure. I have never in the years I have been charting, ever ovulated on CD 14. :-)
