Constipation!

My son is 7 weeks old .his bowel movement is low .he makes a stool once day after day .i breastfeeding him and rarely takes formula just one time per day if I'm out .my question is if I has constipation it transfer through my milk to him or what ?!!

  • My doctor said breastfed babies can go up to four days without a bowel movement because they use all the nutrients so efficiently. I was in the same boat with my 3 week old.
  • Breastfed babies may not have as much poo. As long as baby is wetting 6-8 diapers diapers a day (minimum).
  • Bowel movements start to slow down after a couple of weeks. As long as the stools are not hard, little balls and there is no blood- this is likely normal for him. Baby should still have the seedy consistency albeit probably larger amounts due to the frequency. Consult your pediatrician.
  • Thanks all for your replies...he made that seedy yellowish watery poo but my concern was that he didn't made for the last two days but this morning he made a huge amount
