Gender ultrasound help needed!

We can't help but doubt our tech as she only wrote "looks like a girl" and the view seems to be straight on from the butt not looking up at the butt. We were caught off guard as our 17 week US showed a little triangle...any insight?? I don't see the 3 lines for girl!

    I'm not sure why many women seem to doubt their ultrasound techs, I would think If she couldn't get a 100% look to say its a girl, she wouldn't have said that it was.

    They didn't give you a good pic. It's obviously taken from the back (by the way both legs are folded) so you wouldnt even be able to see boy parts if they were there. Although maybe she got a better view and just didn't get the shot right. I'd do an elective ultrasound if you feel any doubt.

    Yeah that's what my thought was. This clearly has no girl parts (3 lines, labia, etc) and the absence of a penis doesn't necessarily mean girl. The doctor wasn't shown the ultrasound yet since we weren't finding out gender so we can't get her opinion until my next appointment. That's why I was asking for an opinion bc of the lack of genitalia and the fact that she said "looks like a girl" rather than "it's a girl" so thank you for your feedback!

    I had a similar issue. We planned on finding out gender at our AS appointment & the tech told us right before she started the ultra sound that she doesn't confirm girls. I was thinking we are having a boy so didn't think it would be a problem for us. Until she told us "it looks like a girl" but would not confirm its a girl. She said she was 90% sure of a girl. We looked several times & seen no boy parts but I wanted her to just tell us it is a girl and she wouldn't. I feel your pain!! We are getting a 3D ultrasound this month to confirm.

    Thanks guys! Spoke with my MD and the tech didn't save any of the photos so my doctor can't review and confirm so they're getting me in for another ultrasound!
