Obstetric cholestasis

has anyone been diagnosed with this?!
I've had insane itching for a month now and have pills & potions galore and have to travel back and forth to hospital for me and baby to be monitored. Been told I will have to be induced. I'm 36 wks today and I just wondered if anyone else is going trough this?! :)

I usually just nosey and read everyone else's comments but I was diagnoised with this two weeks ago! Now 32+5 weeks. I have to have blood tests at hospital every week and scans every two weeks. Also got a scan of my liver on Tuesday to double check everything. Was abit overwhelming at first but the tablets have helped my itching and baths helped it a lot too! Baby seems fine in there, they do a check on him when I go for my blood tests just listen to his heart and feel how he's laid and double check how I'm feeling. I'll be induced around 38 weeks they said but my bile levels were nearly normal last time so hopefully they'll stay that way! Worst thing is the itchy feet, hope your itching calms down soon!

  • Oh my I was just going to post about this! I don't know if I have it. But for a little over a week now I itch so bad. Every where my head, chest, back, arms, belly, legs, palms and soles of my feet and it's usually at night. From what I read online it sounds like what I have. I of course didn't think about telling the dr I was itchy at my appt. Instead I googled it that night while I was itching. I don't have another appt till the 15th. I am defaming going to ask about getting the blood test. I am 34 weeks 4 days today.
  • I went in today and they did the blood test. Told me it would be fri to get the results. 3 hours later the dr called and said that my enzymes were elevated 10x the normal amount and she consulted the high risk dr and they both agree that I do have ICP. I was prescribed Hydroxyzine Pamoate for the itching and Ursodiol to help with the ICP. She said my levels are so high they would induce between 36-37 weeks if they can't get the numbers down. I'm 35 weeks tomorrow. I go in thurs for a ultrasound and NST.
  • My levels were ridiculously high from my alt results and bile acid results the first time they tested, second time they were near normal (without medication) and now they are back up again but not as high as before(with medication). Basically trying to say they can fluctuate a lot! I'm at the hospital once a week for bloods and check on baby and every two weeks for a scan. So far they don't seem concerned at all, my levels are high atm but I'm on the correct medication for it and as long as baby continues to be happy they are happy to let me continue. Now 33+2 there's a few other women that are there every week too for the same thing so I don't feel alone! Hope all goes well! :)
