anyone planning to rock a bump in a bikini?

I can't decide if i want to rock the bump or do a 1 piece maternity suit.... I'd like to think id be brave enough to wear the bikini but id probably chicken out. . What's everyone elses plan?

Re: anyone planning to rock a bump in a bikini?

  • I want to be able to do it but I have no idea what I'll look like this summer so can't commit quite yet. I haven't gained weight outside my belly much butttttt I'm only 4 months in so who knows!! I think it's adorable when people can pull it off so I say go for it!

  • I bought two today. I rocked a two piece last time and it was so much easier than a one piece. I can't wait do my beach trip in a few weeks now.
  • I rocked A 2 Piece last pregnancy. I wore a lava lava (wrap, thin towel) up around my bump to walk around in but when I relaxed and laid out my belly was all out there. I got pretty lucky with my first pregnancy and only showed/gain weight in my belly so I was very comfortable. This pregnancy has given me some beautiful curves and I still feel confident enough to rock a 2 piece. I love the vintage 2 pieces. Super cute!
  • 2 piece. Bc I know how frustrated I'm going to get every time I have to pee in a 1 pc! No WAY am I putting up with that HAHA. Plus that just more clothing on my body during the hottest time of my pregnancy and biggest most miserable time of my pregnancy.
  • Prob a bikini but if I start putting on too much weight in other areas maybe a tankini lol
  • I'm 15 weeks and heading to the beach in 2 weeks time, gg to just put on my bikini.. I don't have a bump yet, so I think I might just look 'fat'.. In the end, it's all about what you are comfortable in. :)>-
  • If I could rock a bikini normally I would, but I'll be wearing a two piece for sure this summer.
  • Definitely going to rock the bikini this year. DH is really looking forward to summer ;)
  • Bikini! Remember to use sunscreen on bump especially bc the skin is so thin there!
  • Totally! I'll be proud to walk along the beach with my bump on full show in a 2 piece.

Pregnancy is a wonderful and amazing thing, I won't be hiding my bump from anyone lol :-)
  • I'm traveling to Mexico in a few weeks, and being that I'm not one who particulary likes the sun, I plan on rocking my bikini with a tank top over it. I don't plan on purchasing a maternity swim as I'm not a big fan of the pool.

Bikini all the way! my SO supports me and knows how badly I want to show off the little bump plus he loves the way my boobs look in my bras so the bikini is a win win for both. lol
  • I'm going with a bikini for the sole reason of being able to buy a size big enough to hold these girls (now a 34 H) and not being swallowed everywhere else.
  • I'm going to buy a bikini top to match bottoms that I already have since I think the girls will burst out of my current top. Any suggestions for where to buy swimsuits when your boobs are bigger than a double d?
  • Go for it! I love seeing pregnant women in bikinis. I think it's cute
  • Hell yeah bikini bumps! Let's be honest, how stinkin cute are pregnant ladies in bikinis? And I'm not just talking about the six foot tall model-types who get no pregnancy symptoms other than a perfect tiny round bump - I'm talkin all of them! I am a little biased (I posted this to another bikini thread, so sorry if it's redundant to someone from that one!), but I'm about 5'4 or 5'5, yet all my height comes from my legs and I have a hella short torso, soo any kind of one piece or tankini looks suuuper awkward. Incidentally, I had to go to a swimming party for our niece a couple weeks ago at 13+5 and was left with no other choice, despite thinking I wouldn't be bikini-ing it up until I was more obviously pregnant! And if you get there and feel self- conscious (I did, being in the "pudge or pregnant?" phase), just touch your belly lots - that's my new security blanket! :)
  • @ReneeJ2011 omg 34H???? I am at 34F and even I think I have gotten too big. I am dreading the day milk actually starts flowing in these suckers. I feel for you. :-O

Sorry, I'm one of those 6 foot biatches Hahahaha but my bump ain't tiny by any means!

I love taking me son swimming and rockin me bump! People look and it makes me walk taller, with a little smile on my face.
Yes to all the lookers, I'm making a baby, what have you done today? Lol (stole that phrase from a t shirt that says exactly that) haha :-)
  • Lol! I'm wearing a UVA/UVB material shirt and swim bottoms that match. I always slather myself in SPF 50 and reapply constantly ;) incase I missed a spot. I don't burn easy but I don't like harsh sun on me, it does horrible things to the texture of my skin. I'm the person at the beach/pool with a tan, but in the hat, sunglasses, and umbrella, Ha!
  • I kinda want to, but I have stretch marks from my first two LOs, so I'm just undecided for now, but I don't think there's anything weird or wrong with pregnant women wearing bikinis, actually, I think it's cute!
  • @sarahnikai be proud of those stretch marks hunni!

Show them to the world with your head held high! Let people see you've done the most amazing thing....

You've created not one, but 2 babies, plus another LO on the way :-) xx
  • Thank you @mybabynumber2 ! Youre a sweetheart!!
  • I got a tankini that will grow with my belly for while and will probably just do bikinis near the end. Already have a hard enough time finding a one piece that isn't too short. And I have a feeling that I will be so hot July-September that I'm just not going to give a crap if people see my jiggles!
  • I have a tankini. My poor stomach is covered I. Stretch marks from previous pregnancy and a lot of stretched skin. It will be much more comfortable for me to be covered but still easy to pee when needed.
  • I might wear some bikinis when my stomach is fully rounded, but I also have to say that I have two maternity one pieces (which I've never worn before in my life) and they are so damn cute. I've gotten SO many compliments on both of them! One is from target and the other is from destination maternity. I'm also really fair so I think it will help with shielding some sun on my belly in the heat of the summer. Also, for the peeing situation- which I was actually a little concerned about haha- I didn't take it fully off everytime, just held it to the side when I had to pee and it worked perfectly! Sorry if that was TMI haha.
  • I say go for it! I wouldn't before I got pregnant definitely not going to now that I'm pregnant but I say if your comfortable more power to ya. : )
  • I'm going to be 100% honest and say that I was overweight pre-pregnancy and can't wait to wear a 2 piece at the beach later this month. Doubt I'll look pregnant but I really don't care. I've got an awesome wonder woman 2 piece and I'm excited to wear it.

I say bikini!! This just came up from when I was 22 weeks pregnant with my first.
  • Can't wait to wear all my bikinis cuz after baby comes, bikinis out the window for a while.
  • I was just about to post on this topic! I had been eyeing this bikini for our cruise next month and saw it today and had to get it! It looks great with the bump!
  • The back is a soft tie too so seriously comfy. I was just texting my friend with whom I bought it that I want to wear it to bed! Lol
  • Go for it!  I usually let it all hang out.  Who cares if people stare?  Where I live, it's too hot not to swim, and too expensive to buy maternity bathing suits for such short-lived use.

  • Planning on rocking the bikini...will probably buy a tankini for backup just in case I have a day where I want to cover the bump...but def no one piece (have to pee to much to be trying to pull up a wet bathing suit OVER a bump..no thanks!) Plus this is the one summer we will be able to not be "in shape" and still rock the bikini so I say go for it!!!
  • Definitely doing both. I bought a beautiful bikini from VS and a sexy one piece lol I guess I just haven't accepted that I need to buy granny looking bathing suits..lol
  • Oh yea bikini all the way. The best part of being pregnant u can let it all hang out and not worry about sucking in. The only problem I have is I'm big chested to begin with and I'm just getting bigger so finding a top that fits is challenging.
  • @acg5 love that pic! You look adorable and mega healthy.

@sugarmagn0lia you look ace! Get that bikini on and get out there! :-)
  • Also a 6 ft momma and so excited to rock my bikini. Just bought a new top yesterday and I'm so happy!
