help finding something for nausea

My Dr can't prescribe me my nausea medicine anymore unless I go to a Dr for high risk. The office is far away from me and I have no way of getting there.... Idk what to do. She recommended taking unisom which is a sleep aid but she said some people use it for morning sickness. I get really sick in the morning and I usually can't get it under control and I get dehydrated. Please anyone give me some advice!

Re: help finding something for nausea

  • Have you tried these? They helped with my nausea. I think they even sell them at some baby stores like babies r us and buy buy baby.

  • I would recommend finding anything bland and dry you can- pop tarts, peanut butter crackers, club crackers, chex cereal, etc. and set a timer on your phone to go off every 90 minutes. Snack on something. During the night, have an alarm wake you every 3 hours. Snack a bit, take a few sips of gatorade or juice, and go back to bed. On top of that routine, try chewing gum (ginger gum if you can find it) or sucking on suckers. Try popsicles, italian ices and anything else you think you could stomach.

I had terrible nausea that zofran couldn't even touch. What helped the most was remembering to eat and stay hydrated, and if I had to puke- I puked. Having food in my stomach made it much less awful. Feel better!

Yes I have those . They don't help =/ thanks though
  • Try raspberry leaf tea. It helps with neusea and has other bennifits. It can also help you stay hydrated. If you haven't heard of it I would suggest looking into it. It also comes as an herbal supplement. I also have used peppermint which got me through the first tri. Get some candy to suck on.
  • Sucking on Jolly rancher candies really work for me. Something about the sourness help settle my stomach.
  • Ginger works wonders. This site has some suggestions. Hope this helps.

  • I still take a half of unisom and a b6 pill every night. I eat a few crackers when I get up to pee.

  • I was on zofran for a few months than switched to the unisom b vitamin combo- the b vitamin should be slow release (I took b50 slow release, you can find it al walmart). It's not as awesome as zofran but helped. I also find constantly snacking helps.
  • Chewing Ginger candy helped everytime for me
  • Lemon cough drops and ginger candies were helpful. Greek yogurt for the protein before bed minimized morning nausea. I never threw up.
  • I take half a unisom too with a B6. Works wonders for me.
  • 1 of my sisters usd to eat a red apple after meals, another swore by club soda! I just drink iced water, but it only works for mild cases
  • Unisom all the way.

I had horrible morning sickness. The two things that helped me the most were iced lemon water and Pop ice freezer pops. Good luck!
  • The unisom combo still works great for me.
  • Coke slurpees! Works every time for me :)
