Carring baby very low at 29 weeks... Anyone else?

Is anyone Carrying baby very low in their pelvis at 29 weeks? She has been down there the whole time, no need to drop, and they have had a lot of difficulty getting ultrasounds of her head since it is already resting on my cervix! Has anyone had this happen?

Re: Carring baby very low at 29 weeks... Anyone else?

  • THIS!! 28 weeks Sunday and I can feel her at all times! Almost afraid to walk bc it feels like she's gonna fall out!!

  • Almost 30 weeks and my boy has dropped too. I woke up looked in my full body mirror and he's way lower than he was previously. It happens in the last trimester.
  • I don't think she has really ever moved, she's been camping out there since my first ultrasounds, and yes I feel like she's going to fall out! They are concerned with early labor(anytime now) I think because of all the pressure in my cervix from her head being on it... Anyone else have this concern from their doctor?
  • I'm 27 weeks along and my doctor hasn't said anything about me carrying low, but my mom (mom of 4) has made comments about how low I'm carrying. She said usually your belly will start right under your boobs, however mine starts much lower. I rarely feel kicks above my belly button. I'm hoping maybe this means labor will be easier, less of a drop through the birth canal. I have no idea if this is true or not, but it's nice to think it is!

  • Ditto! So glad to hear.  I keep joking she is coming early because she already knows the escape route!
  • I have been feeling the pressure down there since about 27 or 28 weeks. So uncomfortable to walk. Went to my 30 week appt and my doctor said his head was very low. She did not seem to have any concerns about this.
  • Yes ma'am ! And found out my cervix decided to start getting soft.. Here I am on bed rest :(
  • I've been low my whole pregnancy as well I don't feel kicks above my belly button and my ob said she was feeling her head down low already at 28+2 but said she still has room to move around. I am hopefully too that labor will be easier ( that may just be my low pain tolerance talking though). Ob doesn't seem concerned and she is measuring almost a week behind as well...I'm ok with a smaller baby was in the room for my nephew 4 years ago who weighed in at 9lb 9oz and a 38 cm head....ouch!
  • Low here too, much lower than ds. When I walk for a while it feels like she's sitting out in my belly. She's breech so I feel things higher but the low movements feel like they're in my vagina

  • Well hopefully there is no need to worry and it will make for a quick delivery! I'd be okay with that!
  • @taboullio84 dang!!! Bed rest! I'm so sorry.
  • I feel like this is happening but no actual medical confirmation ... I have an U/S scheduled for Monday to check my placenta (it was a little low at anatomy scan) so I guess I will know more then but I really have that sensation of "baby falling out".

My Dr wants to check me again Tuesday to see if I'm dialated at all. I have strong painful BH throughout the day.. Sometimes even in my lower back. I hope I don't end up being in the hospital. I seriously start contracting by just fixing the L/O something to eat. :( I'm so bored now. Lol
  • Low here too, some menstral cramps and lost my mucus plug. Last pregnancy I had lost my mucus plug 2 weeks later I was in labor so I'm super nervous but apprently my doc isn't worried about it.
  • Me, me, me! Feels like this baby is going to fall out every time I walk. ;) This is so new to me. I carried DD 1 & 2 high, right under my boobs, and this sweet girl is very low.
  • I am FTM and thiswhole pregnancy has given lower pressure which made since at every ultrasound baby girls head was sitting on cervix . But yea sometimes after sitting i stand up and feel like shes just gunna pop out !! Its freaky lol hopefully it doesnt cause any problems in the near future!
  • DS is so so low. My pregnant friends are complaining about baby in their ribs and I'm like, "Your baby touches your ribs?!" Mine hasn't moved above my belly button. And when I used the restroom, I feel pressure. Like PPs said, I hope this may mean labor is easier. Little man seems ready to get out! Lol.
  • I'm right there with you. She's never NOT been low, and her head is pretty much on top of my cervix. Thankfully the pressure and discomfort comes and goes... usually is worse if I have a day where I have to stand or walk a lot. None of the doctors have expressed concern about her being low, but I do have complete placenta previa, and I wonder if this has anything to do with her position, since the spot she's "tethered" to is right at the bottom of my uterus.

Oh hey is your last name fulcher?!?! I've never met another fulcher before. Well was a fulcher before I got married.
  • @devyns2nd Yup! It's my maiden name too. Where are you from? I live on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and there are a million of us here! :)
  • @afulcher23 so jealous you live on the cape! So many memories from being a kid down there. Was down at the national cemetery in Bourne the other day unfortunately, that truck caused a heck of a mess.
  • DD never kicked me in the ribs, she was low and I did go early and have an easy delivery :) but I'm not sure if thats why LOL.
DS however is sooo low even compared to her. I feel with him already like I did with her at 34 weeks. I'm glad I'm not alone in this. My friends also all complain about rib kicks and I am over here thinking that sounds better than the constant pressure in my pelvis.
