Silliest worries/insecurities while pregnant?

Just thought it'd be good to have a place to share the irrational thoughts, fears, etc. pregnancy puts us through.

I think my silliest insecurity this time around is getting the crazy thought sometimes during sex that our baby is watching us...like he's in there thinking, "Awkward!" lol

What weird worries do you guys get?

I am terrified that my relationship with DH will change for the worse. I am hormonally clingy (very new for me) and am afraid he will like the baby better than me or will just lose interest in me. He's amazing, makes me feel sexy, takes care of every want and need...we both work hard to have a great relationship. These are completely irrational fears, but I can't shake them.

I'm panicked about the stupid umbilical cord falling off. I've seen a lot of gross things that no one should ever see being an EMT. But, I am in pure panic about it and I know that it's extremely irrational to be.

I'm so worried it's going to fall off and my dog is going to eat it. So irrational.

Yes. What @amark11 said. I am afraid that all the baby crap will push DH and I apart and that all the horror stories about your sex life going out the window will come true and etc..... I've also found myself more clingy.... Which is weird.

Agreed. I feel like there's already been a change. He's so afraid he's going to hurt me. I hurt anyway, at least let me get some every once in a while. Definitely afraid of losing intimacy.

I keep worrying about DH's safety every time he leaves the apartment. I worry that he's going to get into a car accident or something... semi-legitimate, since he has a long commute to work and we live in an urban area and, well, accidents do happen, but logically, the chances of this happening are still pretty slim. Thankfully, he's very understanding and makes sure to text me when he gets to work/wherever he's going and when he leaves to come home.

I'm so sorry you guys! If it helps at all, in my experience intimacy does change...but in a way, after our first my husband and I became so much more emotionally connected than we had been before and that was very fulfilling. And in time (maybe less than you'd expect) our sex life became great again. Honestly my biggest tip to others would be to keep the lines of communication open and to make time for sex even when you don't really feel like it, because that's what helps get you back into the swing of things.

Yes, I found that our sex life changed but our relationship grew deeper. We now had this responsibility of raising our kids. I felt more connected to him...plus, you are looking at genetic copies of each other. You see yourself and your partner in your kiddo.

Actually our relationship is stronger and our sex life never changed. We have made extra sure to take time together though. We also make sure we have sec every night too. Not so much during pregnancy but that's different. It's all about what you BOTH make it. Don't assume your intimacy is gone or is going to change because it doesn't have too If you work hard at making sure you put your relationship first and that sounds harsh but I don't mean neglect your child. We have very happy children because they have happy parents. It's all about balance.
