tissue granulation

has anyone ever experienced this after their stitches healed? did it ever go away on its own?

i feel like i will never be normal again :(

Re: tissue granulation

  • Yes! I had quite a bit over my tear. I thought I'd never go back to normal. However, my doctor has been doing silver nitrate treatments on the area once a week and I can't believe how much better it looks and feels. The tissue was so sensitive (almost painful) before, but now it's like it never happened. I'd ask your doc about it! It's painless and heals within the week before the next treatment. I've had two, may need a third. I'm glad she did it. Good luck!

  • were you ever able to have sex with the granulation there? I am so scared to even try having sex with it...

  • I had it after my first and had silver nitrate applied like PP said. It helped a ton!
  • I had sex before the silver nitrate. It was uncomfortable and bled a little bit but wasn't unbearable. I'd say I noticed a huge difference after the treatment tho! No pain or anything! Granulated tissue is super sensitive, so any stimulation will irritate it somewhat. Just do what you're comfortable with! But honestly I suggest asking your dr to do the treatment if you're uncomfortable or in pain. You shouldn't have to deal with that when there's something so simple they could do! Literally takes 5 min at an appointment.
