induction

Hi ladies
I'm being induced Wednesday the 8th of April, I'll be 38+5 days. I'm being induced as babies currently very big and I'm having reduced movements. The ob feels it's best to induce me.
I've never been induced before so I don't know what to expect.
I heard the labour can drag out longer , Is this true?

    Sometimes they aren't that off. I had an ultrasound at 39 weeks 6 days and she was 7 lbs 10 oz, and she was born 40 weeks and 1 day at 7 lbs 13 oz. I've never been induced either, but did have a c section. I hope everything goes well for you.

    I know there will be Alot of people with the opinion of no no don't get induced just because of size. There are other factors . I have an underlying medical condition , and I don't want a section. So my cardiologist and my ob feel it's safer for me to be induced at 38+5 .
    I am fully aware that a scan can be off by +/- 20%. But I went naturally with my first 6 years ago at 38+2 and she weighed 8lbs 13. So I don't think they're too far off on size..

    Thanks for the reply. I'm so nervous. Fingers crossed all goes well. My ob is hopeful I'll go myself before Wednesday .I was admitted to the maternity om Monday with the reduced movements and they could see the baby was a bit 'sleepy' buy apart from that they were happy..
