Heart Palpatations

I have been having heart palpatations all weekend. I am going to call my OB in the AM but wondered if anyone else has had these. I read they are pretty normal during pregnancy and can normally be a sign of anemia. I didn't have these with my previous pregnancy so just a little nervous.

    Me too....could be the extra blood flow I'm our systems....our blood is pumping Morena harder according to my doc! Of course CHeck it out anyways!

    All day, everyday.  It's so annoying.  I can't fall asleep at night because it feels like my heart is going to jump out of my chest.  I hear it, I feel it everywhere, I HATE IT!

    I work at a physician's office.  EKG was totally normal.  I was told (by my PCP, OB and MFM spec - I'm expecting twins) it's just the increased blood flow and there is nothing I can do.

    Ok--thanks ladies! It is super annoying and wakes me up...Just when I thought I had experienced all the annoying little things about pregnancy that no one ever tells you this one cropped up!

    Me too. I just had an ECG for it. Have not gotten results yet, but my heart was "annoyingly" steady during the test so I doubt it will show anything.

    Same here! I feel it in the weirdest places like my fingers and knees. Who knew you could feel your heartbeat in your knees?? Doc says it's totally normal but if SOB or Chest pain accompany the palpitations then there could be problems. Good luck!

    ive had this happen a few times, randomly. heart just beats really hard n fast out of the blue, for no reason in particular. i mean i dont eat or do anything different, just happens and is gone again (back to normal, i mean) before i have time to worry.

    If you haven't already, try sleeping propped up. For some reason my palpitations only occur when I am laying flat.

    I've had these, I teach and find my heart races and I lose my breath quickly sometimes it feels like my heart is coming out my chest. I'm also vegetarian so I'm aware of the anaemia factor, I've been to the docs and midwife both did nothing other that told me to sit down and take it easy!! Useless.
