whats everyones thoughts on a humidifier?

Hey Ladies, just wondering if getting a humidifier is necessary or not for a new baby? What is everyone's thoughts on this?

    Certainly wouldn't hurt! Especially if allergies run in the family. We had to get one for my son right away because he was always snotty. We got the cool mist one as recommended by our doc

    I think it depends on the time of year/climate and if kiddo is dealing with illness. 

    I live in Minnesota with really dry winters and humid-enough summers.  We run humidifies in the winter, but not in the summer (unless a bad respiratory illness warrants it). 

    If you live in FL and run a humidifier...you might grow mold b/c of too much moisture.

    We've used ours frequently for DD over the past 3 years. I'm not sure we used it when she was an infant, just when she started getting colds.

    I've been sick the last few days and opened mine up that I got for my shower. I've been using it at night. I love it! If not for baby, then for mommy! Lol

    Make sure you clean it well and regularly. We have one and like it but boy is it a pain to clean. :(

    I live in the desert, so it's a must for us. I already had a Crane teardrop humidifier before baby came along, so we just got another one for him. They are a pain to clean, though.
