This makes me feel even worse. DD has decided she is not eating dinner anymore (she eats a good brfst and lunch). But she will not touch a vegetable...nothing. I can't even get her to eat a tomato or cuke with balsamic vin. on it...which she used to... sigh. At least she eats fruit...

My Mom has been feeding DD homemade food since she started solids. Every day she eats a medley broccoli, cauliflower and carrots along with meat. She also loves sweet potatoes.
Hubby and I think DD doesn't know any better. Maybe if she "knew" they were veggie, she'd reject them!
Ha ha - NO. DS eats zero veggies. He used to eat Dr. Praeger's spinach pancakes, but no longer. We give him broccoli stuffed chicken nuggets and he will eat those because he can't see the broccoli. We have to hide the veggies.
He does eat a lot of fruit though, He is inhaling a pear right now,
My kids won't eat a veggie or fruit.
They may eat applesauce, but not anything else unless you count the natural fruit cereal bars that they do eat. That is about it. *sigh*
we don't eat meat, so thank goodness my kid eats veggies like a freak! and fruit...and anything in sight...she loooooves food.
She DOES go on weird eating strikes, though where she'll eat two bites of food at each meal and then that is it...
I fed her almost a whole pumpkin pie in a couple of days during one of those periods...it was the only thing she'd eat much of for some reason...
try that, by the way- pumpkin is good for you!
My DS won't eat a single veggie.
I started giving him V8 Fusion, it is the fruit and veggie mix, he drinks that so at least I know he is getting some vitamins.

both of my kids forgo dinner on a regular basis...as long as they get their calories in for the day (nutritiously) I am fine with it...it makes the morning a little early, but that's ok by me...
my 4 yo will eat some veggies, I make sure I always have her favorites...my 2yo won't eat veggies unless they are pureed and mixed with applesauce...so on top of that I give him (dr. recommended) a juice from Costco (Greens To Go) that has the antioxidant equivalent to 6 servings of fruits and vegetables. It's a poweder that you add to a water bottle...ds loves it and asks for it all the time...dd hates it and refuses to drink it. (I admit, it smells awful and it's green)
Yes Melmax...all good nestie kids eat veggies, go to bed exactly when its bedtime, never throw temper tantrums and behave perfectly at restaurants and church....what????
kidding.
I have combo kids.
Taylor--not a veggie or fruit fan. Fruits are too sweet for her and veggies..well she avoids them unless its a casserole type dish. The girl will eat meat and pasta until the cows come home.
Audrey--she is my vegetarian. No meat will come near her....except an occasional hot dog. But even chicken nuggets or hamburgers from McDonalds don't get touched. She will eat veggies and fruit all day and night though. She loves carrots and celery and just about any fruit or veggie.
Mitch--he's our garbage disposal right now...the kid eats anything and everything. But he's still young...I'm sure it will change.
So--there is my proof that it doesn't matter WHAT you do, a kid is going to like what a kid is going to like. That said..that doesn't mean that I only serve my kids what they like...they still get everything on their plate and if they want seconds of anything, they eat a bite of everything. So far that's caused Taylor to puke once....oppss.
DS likes veggies, but he only eats plain foods - no sauces or seasonings, and he won't eat anything that is mixed together - casseroles, soups, etc. He needs each food to be separate and preferably not touching each other on the plate. Oh, and he barely eats meat. He will eat chicken, but pretends that it's shark. So they all have their idiosyncrasies I think.
Have you tried edamame? It is really nutritious but fun to eat - DS eats them like candy.
