OPK tests- time of day important?

Hello
I have jut started using OPKs and I have read conflicting things about what time of day to be testing. I am currently testing 2 times a day. Once between 10-11 and then again between 5-6. Is this correct or is this timing wrong?

Re: OPK tests- time of day important?

  • I thought I read that it's best to use the first morning's urine as that's when the hormone concentration is the strongest. But yes, there is conflicting information out there so I'm not really sure if I'm doing it right either.

  • If you are using wondfos than you are good. The fancy digital opk's say to use FMU but the cheepies you use later. Your LH surge is usually in the afternoon so later testing is better. Just make sure not to pee the few hours before you test.
I have always caught my surge late in the day.
    Good luck.

  • I use wondfos and also test twice a day. Last cycle (my first time using them) I got a definite positive in the evening.

  • Thank you!!
  • Someone said not to pee but I think they meant try not to drink anything in the couple hours before testing.

you have to not use the bathroom for a few hours so the urine you have in you is concentrated.
But yes if you drink too much water in that time it will also dilute it.
