Hi ladies! My name is Kelly and I'm a newby. Just curious to see when and how everyone is announcing the new baby! I am due on November 20th and was looking for some fun ideas. I am a first time mommy.
I'm waiting for an ultrasound at least and sticking it on a paper that will read " estimated around nov. 23rd I will be a big sister!!" Something like that for my 2 yr old to hold up and I can send everyone the photo. My bf called most his family as soon as I got the first home positive. Lol
Awe! That is a wonderful idea. Yes, I don't blame him. It is so exciting! I'm having a hard time keeping in it as well! Xoxo thanks so much for sharing
I am due Nov 22. We plan to tell our parents next week. Both sets live out of state so we are mailing our ultrasound picture framed with a cute poem I found online. We will have them open it with us on the phone.
After the ultrasound and will have my 2 girls hold up signs, saying oldest and middle. I was also thinking doing the Ice Ice baby picture with my hubby holding bags of ice and I'm standing next to him holding an ultrasound picture on my belly. Either way, something fun and different. I can't wait to tell the world, but don't want it to be too soon either. Best of luck!
I'm a first timer too and have been itching to share the news. I ordered a shirt that says "I'm so pregnant" and am waiting (impatiently) until my appointment next week so I can make sure the baby is okay! Waiting is the hardest thing EVER.
I'll prob tell after our first ultrasound but that's not until almost 12 weeks! (End of April) Luckily it's a busy month for us so I hope it goes by fast!
I am doing the same with my other children holding the signs that's say oldest and middle. We plan on announcing at Easter. I'll only be 7 weeks, but I vomit so much I won't be able to hide my secret.

Same and same. My mom can't keep her mouth closed on anything so I'm just gonna spill the beans before she does. Anyone and everyone that would find out is close enough to be a support system in the event of something terrible. I think the idea of waiting is a little morbid anyways. I want to be excited. Not terrified.
Hi I am trying my best to wait until Mother's Day. I'll be 12 weeks by them but it's so hard!!! We had mc in January and on that pregancy we told immediate family as soon as we got a BFP and then we had to share the bad news 2 weeks later. That's why we want to wait BuT it's hard because this time we already heard a healthy heartbeat which is already more than what we knew last time.
Thanks for this post ladies! I feel the same and I'm sick of feeling like I'm doing something wrong if I tell too early! Were so excited and just want to tell the world! First ultrasound is on Monday and I think we will do it then if everything is ok ( I'll be 8 weeks)! Hubby and I are spending Easter break in Denver for his 30th and we bought shirts that say "drinking for three, eating for two" that were going to wear for our announcement and we will be going to a brewery here in Denver to take the pic. Hubby is a brewer in pa and our life is focused around craft beer so it's only fitting.
We're telling my in-laws tonight. Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about telling them. I don't mind if they know but I don't want the word to spread beyond them yet and I don't think they'll be able to keep it secret. I really don't want to tell my kids until around 12 weeks but I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep it from them that long since I have to bring them with me to drs appts.
We already told close family and friends, but will make it Facebook official at 12 weeks with a picture it me and my husband wearing vans and a baby pair between us.
We're going to announce to friends at 12 weeks (immediate family already knows). We're big soccer fans, so we are getting a tiny jersey for our favorite team and having our last name printed on it. We're going to take some cute photos with us holding the jersey and a soccer ball and label them, Our Little Kicker, coming November 2015
Hello all, I am having the hardest time keeping this from my friends and family. I have been avoiding them as well until I at least hear a strong heart beat (that's the plan). If I can stand it I will tell our parents and grandparents on Mother's Day and I'll be about 11.5 weeks.
My first ultrasound is Monday. According to my LMP I will be 10 weeks. I wanted to wait until 12 weeks to tell family. If everything is well on first ultrasound, I assume that the next appointment won't be until my 14 week mark...which is closer to Mothers Day (when I originally planned to share the news)
However, I'm really not sure if I can hide it that long because according to other threads, 14 weeks is about the time that people start showing a little. I've already been asked by several people because it's no secret that my husband and I were trying and I'm pretty sure my excessive bloat and lack of social drinking is giving me away.
Though I realize I am completely overanalyzing this, what do you suggest? Waiting until appointment number two when I am officially into the 2nd trimester or spill the beans before then?
So many cute ideas! This is my first pregnancy so my husband and I took a picture of our dog with a sign around her neck that says "I'm going to be a big sister". My parents call her their grand doggy so hopefully they'll love the pic. We're waiting until my first US next week to hear the heartbeat before we tell them though. I'll be 8 weeks.
I am telling my parents and my husbands family on Easter. I will be 10 weeks on Easter and thought it would a good surprise to let them know with an Easter basket.
My husband and I are first time parents and we are waiting till 12 weeks to tell our families, however some people at work already found out due to when we booked time off haha but it's all a secret so they are keeping it hush. We are due November 27th but have been booked for a 8 week scan, 10 week appointment with my midwife and then a 12 week scan ! Super lucky, 8 week wasn't needed as I'm sure of my dates but who could pass up seeing your beautiful little bump? We are planning on sending my husbands family parcels with onesies that say "I love my aunty" etc and getting them to open it on skype with us. Still thinking of creative ways to announce it that are unique
We told my parents at 9 weeks over Skype with our dogs and a sign that read 'baby x' 'guard dog duties begin oct 30th'. I had my US at 9w3d and heard heart beat. So then we told inlaws yesterday as we are visiting for Easter. We gave them a plastic egg with a paper inside saying 'baby x, hatching oct 30th'. We then told sister and law and kids by giving kids 'I'm going to be a big cousin' tshirts in their Easter baskets. I was 10 weeks yesterday. Will wait to officially announce to the world until our 13 week scan and ultrasound. 3 weeks I think I can do it! Some close coworkers and friends already know as well.
