Fur Baby Friday! 4/3

Good Friday to all!

How are your fur babies?

Thanks for the well wishes about my sick kitty last week. She's doing much better, although dealing with another regimen is an extra bit of unanticipated stress.

Here's a throwback to Izzy curled up with her sick momma:

  • Adorable kitty :) jealous of the insomnia partner you have.

  • We're pulling together the nursery and I found our black kitty Gus like this this morning. I'd say he approves!

All three of my pets have had a very visible presence during all aspects of nursery prep!

And found a very nice hiding place under the crib!

My crib is not together yet so my cat loves "hiding" between the rails.

Good to know he can walk around in there and it's not this big mystery place he's not allowed in and gets curious about later. I think it'll be an easier adjustment on animals if you let them be a part of the prep for baby. :-)

This is coming from the girl who has no nursery and no new house yet. Haha my poor cat might end up a little hissy!

Aw look at all of us black cat ladies :)

My cat likes to steal body warmth so he always lays down on our bed on the spot someone was last in. Pic below of my side of the bed 2 min after I got up...

Cat snuck into our laundry room last week when DH left door ajar. Yes, the laundry room where I think the litter box needs to go after LO is born but DH is convinced it too dangerous for our cat because of the boiler in the same room.

Our cat is 13 and he's not a dummy or else he would not have lived this long, I say. And now he's been in the laundry room and totally survived, so I think I have a legit argument now!

My cat runs away after doing her business. Maybe you can try the litter box in there for a few days now and see how kitty does?

Nothing more infuriating to a cat than a closed door!

I want to share how smart and intuitive animals are...when I was in labor with DS, my cat (in profile pic), who is generally very quiet started howling in my face.... She climbed on me and just stared at me and yelled with her Sianese howl.... I joked with my husband that she was trying to tell me "you are in labor" so I figured it made logical sense to listen to my cat and I took a shower.... She paced outside the bathroom howling until I came out... I called the doc (left out the cat story to avoid a psych admittance!) and sure enough was in active labor! DH gets embarrassed when I share this story (crazy cat lady here!) but it really happened and I don't doubt for a moment she knew what was happening before I did!

It's a cat labor alarm clock! A cousin of the "get up and feed me" cat alarm clock...
  • I love watching my puppy dream. He really must see things because his little legs go nuts and he does these muffled little barks it's adorable. I always wake him up if he sounds like it's a bad dream though.

He has also recently started guarding me while I'm in the bathroom. No matter where in the house he is if he hears me go into the bathroom he comes running and will sit in front of me facing the door and just wait until I'm done. Protecting me from being caught with my pants down :)
  • All my babies are bathroom stalkers my dog will just sit there waiting but my kitty she will nuzzle my legs asking for lovings. They're sooo cute. I wish I could post pics but it won't let me .
  • I've been annoying with the dog recently because the change in seasons is making her refuse to go pee outside no matter how many times I send her out. Then she comes back in and whines! But she redeemed herself when I was resting the other day with the TV on while my toddler was napping. Pups heard her wake up before I did and bolted to the door, crying. It was perfect because I didn't heard the baby at all!

I wouldn't say their friends....but our little girl tries really hard and the dog either runs away or deals with it lol. They'll be friends one day!

There's nothing that Gus hates more than a closed door! He's 7 but we've only had him for two years so we're trying to make the transition as smooth as possible for him by allowing him to romp around in there and get his scent on things. So far so good. We'll see how he does when there's a crying baby in there!

  • This is my fur baby Cheeto, he is 5 and a half months old.  He is my best friend.  My 13 year old chihuahua passed away over a year ago and sent me into a horrible depression.  This little guy was given to me by my husband for Christmas and I love him!  I am not sure how he is going to act when there is a new baby around though :)
  • We put together our glider last weekend and our poodle has found her spot!
  • The puggle is mine. The GSP I am doggy sitting for the week... Which means two shadows instead of one! :)
  • Pugsley with his tooth out :P
  • Kitty getting some loving in a bump picture.
  • My boy has officially found his spot upstairs outside of the nursery. He's going to be a great big brother ! :)
