Twins / when to stop working?

I'm 28 weeks pregnant with twins and work 12 hour shifts as a RN. I've started feeling more uncomfortable, tired, and experiencing Braxton Hicks while at work. I'm thinking my work days are coming to an end... I'm curious when did any fellow twin moms stop working or start bedrest?

    If I was not already out of work on modified bed rest due to bleeding related to placenta previa / low lying placenta my doctor planned to put me out of work at 28 weeks which is her standard for a multiple pregnancy. I recommend you talk to your doctor to decide what is best for you and the babies.

    FET 3/28/14; BFN - 4/7/14
    IVF #2 - Transfer 2 embryos 11/14/14; BFP 11/24/14 - Beta 265;
    11/26/14 - Beta 612; 11/28/14 - Beta 1263; 12/1/14 - Beta 3571;
    12/3/14 - first u/s - two gestational sacs; 12/17/14 - two healthy heartbeats (132 and 134)
    Our IVF miracles were born 7/16/15

    Thanks for the reply. I'm definitely going to do that. From what I can tell 28 weeks seems to be the norm.

    Hey! I am also an RN with twins...we had a complication early on that made me decrease my 12s to 8hr shifts. That worked until I was 32 weeks...i started having increased cramping and lower back pain so I told the Drs i didnt think i could work anymore. So I have been out of work since and I am now 34 weeks. I am so glad i stopped when i did because i am more uncomfortable and in so much more pain (pelvic/ligament). If the 12s are getting too hard talk to your manager about maybe decreasing you to 8s. Just listen to your body, it will tell you when to stop. Drink lots of fluids and try and rest as much as you can at work (i know thats a lot easier said than done). :)

    Thanks! Those 12s are killer. I just decreased to 8s and I'm so excited. I'm hoping I can last a few more weeks working part time hours before I'm off for good.
